From History of The Marvel Universe 1. First big bang was created due to war of celestials, second was due to the ship colliding with the objects which contained all the power in the universe. Phoenix is only the nexus of all psionic energy as confirmed in the second scan. Not even embodiment of all life energies, just nexus of psionic energies.
