I have a theory, he reads comics in his reality and in those comics all the characters and stories are just made up by dc writers. With this knowledge I think he can do whatever he wants. Like a person in control of his dreams. Once he’s in the comic, the writers have control but since he knows this he can wrest control it. He almost when he had thoughts of absorbing DK and then destroying everything. Something I’m sure the writers didn’t want.
So he did the next best thing, ko’d DK and recreated his reality, gave the writers back control and a chance at a win for the heroes. I have no proof but this is what my gut says.
