Access media reviews are becoming increasingly irrelevant anyways, most of them are bought and paid for and their opinions seem to have little sway on the average movie goer. The critics all hated the new Jurassic World and that made a bunch of money.
I don't agree with critics every time but they tend to be more on the ball than the dipshits going out in droves to watch Jurassic World: Rebirth lmao.
I don't know when online discourse became so enamored with what the average dipshit thinks but it's pretty cringe tbh.
Yeah, not a fan of how it affects today's consumerist climate where mostly anything that's a cashgrab can be successful now. Of course there's also when something's a big brand name which'll allow it to decently sell to some degree regardless of quality and FOMO always kicks in for those people regardless of what critics say.
Jurassic being one of the biggest examples now since Disney remake "magic" has mostly come and gone, but nostalgia of the first Jurassic film (the only one that really stands the test of time) allows it to get sequel after sequel. I think my curiosity for the previous films had a lot to do with lack of alternative action spectacle films at the time worth checking out, but as it stands now, I couldn't imagine justifying Rebirth over Superman or Fantastic 4.
While Rebirth will unfortunately also compete with Superman because of the timing, glad it was already out a week and some days first, and since word has gotten out that Rebirth is pretty ass, some less people will see it and probably see the other mentioned films instead. The box office pull that dinosaurs have can't be underestimated though still, and have to face facts that Superman doesn't exactly have that despite his iconicness, but his film here should still be a healthy success by some metric.

Eh, I don’t know about all that, I have a little more faith in my common man than you, I guess, lol. I think a lot of corpos care about what normies think now, pretty simply because they are the ones who pay. Movies are so expensive now and with the death of physical media, the theater is the only chance they have to make that money.
Regarding main stream critics/tastemakers or whatever you want to call them; they are falling off because of places like YouTube and Twitter where individuals can build their own audiences of like minded individuals. You don’t have to take the word of some paid shill from their ivory tower, whom you probably have little to nothing in common with taste wise. For good or bad, everyone has a voice now.

Interested to hear what you think Leech. Looking forward to this optimistically. I think it and Rebirth can both succeed if they feed off each other as big tentpole movies, like Barbenheimer two years ago or Sherlock Holmes and Avatar did back in 2009.
I usually listen to YouTubers to get their opinions leading into a movie's premiere, and Jeremy Jahns and Dan Murrell both gave meh reviews to it.

I wasn't kidding. Of course they'll want a DC MAGA-verse. They should watch The Boys to see their Superman. They won't realize it is satire.
They do watch the boys, as they freaked out all over social media when Frenchy had a boyfriend for like 47mins, gay stuff is fine, just gotta keep it in the closet like they do. Starlight also pisses them off because girl power and stuff. They don't realize that Homelander (and others) is mocking them and their shit views.

I can't stand that Jahns guy. The way he waves his arms around like an idiot I can't stand him. I haven't watched any of his reviews in probably 8 or 9 years. Dan Murrell I usually respect, though, even if I don't always entirely agree. Red Letter Media is my favorite by far, though.
Keep in mind, I'm not a Superman fan. I'm just a Gunn fan. He'll accomplish quite a task if he makes a Superman movie that interests me. I'm liking what I've heard so far.

oh yeah, I vaguely remember that. It's amazing how clueless they are.
I think the final season is probably going to deal with concentration camps (I really hope they're called something ridiculous like "freedom camps" or something). And my right-wing coworker who likes the show still probably won't get it. He's super Hispanic, too. Like, if Stephen Miller caught a distant wiff of him he would be instantly rounded up.
Absolutely loved it it was good to see a traditional take on the legendary character, and he reminded me of reading a Jurgens Superman comic or seeing the DCAU version I grew up watching. Nicholas Hoult killed it as Luther, and their dialogue together was well-done, the side characters were all cool.
