He is usually a prick (as is Kevin Sorbo), but I heard him on Piers Morgan discussing the new Superman and he wasn't too bad this time. He says he's excited to see the film.

Absolutely loved it it was good to see a traditional take on the legendary character, and he reminded me of reading a Jurgens Superman comic or seeing the DCAU version I grew up watching. Nicholas Hoult killed it as Luther, and their dialogue together was well-done, the side characters were all cool.
Yeah, Nicholas Hoult was excellent. He's proven to have a lot of range as an actor.
I will also say that the final trailer, watching it now after the fact, is not very good. Doesn't do the movie justice. It's funny, compelling, and trippy/weird in the best James Gunn ways.
This was good fun, enjoyed almost all of it. Loved the retro-ish look of Superman. Corenswet fits the role up and down. Hoult was a proper Lex Luthor. Superdog was overall fine, didn't cheese it up too much as I feared from the trailers. Most other characters were either good or serviceable enough.
I laughed at the clear ripoff of
Spoiler:.
Loki getting beaten mid ranting monologue by Hulk, when Krypto did the same to Lex
Complaints: It almost went too James Gunn for a James Gunn film at times. But nothing like the too Taika Waititi that was the hot mess of Thor: L&T. So this is a minor complaint at most. I didn't care for the female Vin Diesel Bloodshot character at all, they could have done better here. Hawkgirl was a QT, but practically a throwaway character. Maybe she'll be developed later on.
edit: Overall a very solid start for a new DC universe.

I thought so at first, too, but she did do something really great at the end that made for a fantastic smash cut. Remember? It was gold. 😂
She might have had some stuff on the cutting room floor, too, who knows.

So Rob, what do you think...Spoiler:
Do you think Lex and co. doctored the footage of Superman's parents to make Superman's appearance on earth nefarious? Or were his parent's actually that condescending to earthicans?I ask because I'm not very familiar with Superman lore. I'm curious.
It would be a huge departure from long standing Superman lore if it stands as is. So I'm guessing the truth will be revealed in the sequel.
Unless Gunn is legit doing his own thing here, honestly, could probably go either way thinking about it more.

I had to separate Kevin Sorbo and his Hercules even more by a certain point, but the character he played still has its place for me. I can look back on Lois & Clark too with my nostalgia still intact.
