That's good to hear at least. I won't be a revisionist against Dean Cain's Superman; it had its time and place in the 90's and him and Teri Hatcher were great together, but any negative talk from him on current or future Superman's is just the words of a has-been forcing himself back in the conversation and should be shrugged off.

I had to separate Kevin Sorbo and his Hercules even more by a certain point, but the character he played still has its place for me. I can look back on Lois & Clark too with my nostalgia still intact.

^^^Nicely put. 👆

As to the movie,

I saw it twice.
First time i went by myself so i could watch it in full geek mode as god intended.

Second time w. family & friends, to have a back and forth w. people i knew.

Great freaking movie. Just great.

If i wasn't already in an unrequited twenty+ year love affair w. Nathan Fillion this performance would have made me fall for him.

Superman

Spoiler:
countering the pull of a black hole with his BREATH
was some Reeve-level phuckery. 😂

Same.

I really liked both the Kevin Sorbo and Dean Cain portrayal of Hercules and Superman. So shame about how they are. Complete opposite to the characters they portrayed so well.

In terms of the shows themselves I was defo more of a Hercules guy.

^^^Now i want a Xena/Lois Lane crossover.

This is just class act stuff here...

He answers why Superman's trunks are a little goofy...

That is very well said.

I never watched Hercules, but I actually did watch Lois & Clark back in the day. I barely remember it, I just had a crush on Teri Hatcher, tbh.

Haha, nice. I plan to see it again, too, by myself this time. This film is definitely dense and complex and visually impressive enough to totally warrant another theater visit.

Lol, it's fine. It's comicbook silliness.

I almost forgot about

Spoiler:
Peacemaker's
appearance, haha. I genuinely laughed. I think that got a pretty big laugh in my theater.

😐

I knew you weren't a real person. But even by bot-standards, that's lame.

^^^Theres an ep. of MacGyver where a pre L&C Teri Hatcher does a dance number wearing a skimpy Egyptian outfit. My God. 😕

Sorbo is such a moronic douche I'm glad I never watched it.

Don't drag Hercules and especially Xena down with Sorbo. Hercules in goated though, you trippin.

Will see this film on Monday at the earliest; I just know it'll be sometime early next week. Glad Ben Shapiro and the like are ripping on it, showing who not to trust even more.

I really liked the characters, Corenswet and Hoult in particular both totally knocked it out of the park. However, I found the story to be laughably bad. If WB keeps Gunn off writing duties, future DCU projects (well Superman at least) have the potential to be really good.

I'll probably be seeing this later on this month. Currently have School Holidays on here in Australia

tend to avoid the cinema when those are on.

didn't like it.

Solid film. Terrific is a scene stealer and can't wait for his spin-off

Hey looks whose here !

Seeing this in a couple of hours.

Top film.

Entertaining from start to end.

Will say it was a good balance between the violent porn of MOS and the Nostalgia driven nothingness of SR. So better than both. But not epic like the first two Christopher Reeve films. So probably the third best Superman film (I say probably because I dont give a s*** Superman 3 is a classic).

Oh and for anyone who hasnt seen it yet, dont waste your time with the post credit scenes. This is the start of a new Universe, so either dont have post credit scenes or make them relevant to something/anything.

Right im just gonna say it. Hoult has been proper overhyped IMO.

The character portrayal was disappointing as well. Just a generic over the top bad guy.

Hoult was fine. His Lex shone most in his scenes with Superman (as he should) but imo his dialogue in other scenes (like with
Spoiler:
Engineer, or the US... joint chiefs? Whatever that was supposed to be
) felt noticeably flat. I don't think that was Hoult's fault, exactly, but that part of the script (or maybe Gunn's directing) failed to go deeper than "basic bad guy exposition". Like they were talking past each other to give the audience necessary background info. Felt a bit jarring.

Imo, if any of the actors should be getting accolades, it should be Brosnahan. She was great.

You mean Mr. Terrific? 3rd smartest man on earth 😛

Brosnahan was great. But surprisingly not in the movie all that much. So she hasnt really been given the opportunity to be ranked up there as amongst the best Lois Lane.

Yes. No idea where Mr. Miracle came into my mind from.
