Maybe this isn't specifically an argument against gay marriage, but why should childless married couples get government benefits?
Seems to me all those benefits like inheritance and tax deductions are based on incentives to raise up families, and build generational wealth. So why should any two childless people of any sexual orientation get those things?
Society doesn't benefit a lick from two assholes choosing to marry. Their love doesn't justify tax breaks, or any benefits aside from what any two live in roommates get.
We've been having the wrong conversation. It never should have been about whether gays can marry, but why anyone should get benefits for the privilege of being married.
