What do you think about same-sex marriage?

Families definition is pretty sound.

The whole point of breaks is to encourage having kids.

Frankly, the codes should be re-written to allow any couple raising kids as getting those benefits, while childless couples get treated the same way as two strangers rooming together, because there's no real reason for two people living together without any dependants to get any breaks then unmarried strangers.

More an argument having to do with tax breaks and marriage in general than whether gay marriage should or shouldn’t be legal.

Agreed

Correct because if legal marriage is only supposed to be based on having children that means marriages with people who can't have children wouldn't be able to get married as well.

It's a terrible way to look at marriage.

Honestly I do think marriage as a government legal construct should go away and be replaced with some dependency type law. If someone is dependent on you for survival then they you could receive tax breaks.

Examples would be children, a partner that quits their job to be a stay at home parent..

I see no reason to get rid of marriage as a legally binding contract.

Why not? What does it cover that a dependency system wouldn't cover?

Name of your spouse.

You mean changing the last name of your spouse? Couldn't you just get a name change for that?

Technically, you can have any name you want once married... Yeah, you don't need to be married for a name change, it's just a good excuse, I guess.
