But I also saw the same poverty off the resort in the Dominican Republic. And there, they do not guarantee your safety if you leave the resort (In Cuba, I felt safe everywhere.) The Dominican has a big problem with child labour abuse, and incredibly some form of slavery still exists on their plantations!
Their neighbour Haiti, they've been a mess for decades. Jamaica is a crime and drug riddled country. These other Caribbean nations have big problems, yet none of them are Communist.

The truth is, far left idealogy is a minority is the US. Even if it was true schools were full of them, you probably won't find far lefties teaching business school or any of the hard science focuses.

Well, for all the flak welfare recipients get in the U.S., there seems to be no problem with corporate welfare. Wall Street loses tens of billions in 2008, and the government just gives these weak-ass corporate types the money to keep going. That smells like a form of socialism to me.
