Aquaman in a curbstomp.

Its like talking to a 2 year old. You tell them something over and over and all they say is 'Why' and 'because'. Its to the point where its embarrassing. With H1, I guess its better to play dumb than to admit he was wrong.

But you didn't answer the question.
Ill make it more clear.
Why did the writer choose to show them paddling at times when he could have chosen to show them using the speculative propulsion all the time?

Either quote the writer or stop being a twit with your biased and idiotic speculation.

Provide a quote from the writer or movie that explicitly states his intent.

I saw a video a week or so ago that explains the special effects and background info of the super powers on display in the DCEU movies. The guy in charge of all of it, who has full blessings from the writers and producers to get it done confirmed Atlanteans have a propulsion system powered by hydrokinesis(same power he uses to stop the flood and make a water shield)and they basically "fly" underwater. So like everyone who isn't H1 said, and H1 once again is talking out of his a*s.

It's John Des Jardin. He's the VFX Supervisor for Justice League, and especially on the Snyder Cut. He fully explains how he had conversations with Zack and the writing team about how the powers worked so they could visualize them.

YouTube video

The scene in question starts at about 10 minutes. Then we get a full breakdown of Aquaman's abilities. Seems pretty open and shut. Atlanteans clearly have a propulsion system, we see it happening on screen, JD talks about the hydrokinetic propulsion and how they fly underwater. So if they're not using it, it's because they don't feel like it or don't have to in that instance. It's extremely simple, H1. You're wrong. You don't get much more "writer's intent" than the VFX Supervisor and Writer collaborating on the finished product so they powers can look how they want them to and how they think they should work.

I did answer it, but as usual you cant seem to comprehend english. Like I said, when Arthur is casually swimming around, he paddles like everybody else that swims. When he needs to get up and go, he uses propulsion without paddling. Again, the .30 second mark of the video illustrates that.

He paddles at slower speeds because hes not using propulsion. Its the same as why Superman walks sometimes when he can fly. Its very, very simple.

Why would he use propulsion all the time? Do you run as fast as you can all the time? Does Superman fly all the time? Hell, even the Flash takes it easy a lot of the time. Your just being stupid now.

How many times do I have to answer your question? Now why dont you answer mine just once?

It would be hilarious if it turns out h1 is a literal, sentient brick wall.

You didn't answer the question. You posed another question instead.
I'm asking about the writer, not what's in a fictional character's mind (he never existed).

Stating that the writer has him paddling at lower speeds and propulsion at higher speeds. But why? Why didn't the writer have him use propulsion at lower speeds? Wouldn't propulsion always be easier? Didn't Silent post a clip of AM speculatively using propulsion at lower speeds when searching around before confronting Steppenwolf?

Superman Walking vs flying has nothing to do with it. Nor does it answer the question. Using the phrase, "for the same reason as..." doesn't answer the question if we don't know the answer to situation you proposed.

So h1, what were you saying about "writer's intent"?

You see now THIS is evidence of writer's intent.

Not the speculative head canon shit that h1 comes out with.

I see you're conveniently ignoring KingD's post proving that the writer's did intentionally want Aquaman to use a propulsion system underwater.

You just got owned H1.

Didn't see this post.

Well case is closed then. Propulsion it is. Good job.

Just weird the writer has Atlanteans paddle when swimming at times.

At least he proved it. You guys suck at debating.

They paddle because like the others have pointed out, they're not always in a hurry to get somewhere. The paddling is essentially walking while underwater. Even if you could fly, you wouldn't necessarily fly down the stairs or fly all around the house. Or fly to the store when it's a 5 minute walk. It takes more effort to get around like that, and it's impractical for short distances.

If I could fly then I would never walk (assuming it was normal to fly). I'll just float to where I'm going. In some scenes AM was shown just gliding through the water very slowly (even slower than when he was shown paddling). Others posted the clip as proof to propulsion. Hell, it even appears that paddling takes more effort than slowly gliding using propulsion.

My stance was AM was merely coasting after paddling off screen. So this would give us fiction inconsistency (a form of contradiction).

Yup. He proved something that anyone with a decent pair of eyes and some common sense could have easily figured out. Sorry H1, most of us just aren't that practiced at trying to prove stuff to a moron. Not easy to prove something that's pretty common sense you know?

Anyway, now that that's settled I guess we can all agree that Abom takes Aquaman to town.

Bro, the only reason I even jumped in this is because I saw that specific line about the propulsion and remembered the video. If I hadn't seen it I probably wouldn't have even tried lol.

Honestly, how hard was that to comprehend? I've only been saying it forever. Amazing that has to be explained to somebody.

Youre welcome to challenge any of us to a BZ to show how superior your debating skills are.

But I suspect it will just prove how delusional you are.
