😉 yeah, they did, they've set a lot of things...

Sunak or Mordaunt will lose the next election, Truss might just clinch it.

I think it may be between Sunak or Mordaunt, which is just handing it to Starmer.

Even Raab thinks Rayner would have been a much better leader for the opposition.

So yeah. Mordaunt wins, she'll be an embarrassment, Starmer will win the general election and be even further embarrassment with just enough time for the Tories to regroup.

It's almost like it was planned this way.

Cutting corporate tax would make Britain a somewhat tax haven for multinational corporations and encourage them to come to us, creating jobs and making the pound much more valuable to other currencies.

Remind me how much Ireland benefits from that exact taxation policy.

Probably nothing because they have the Euro. 😛

Tbf Sunak plans to put Corporation Tax up.

As for the next election, it will depend on how the Economy is doing, and if Tories can rebrand their image over the next two years. Because its not like they have to worry about Starmers charm.

The mistake for the electorate would be thinking Starmer is better than a Tory or even a lesser evil. Hes not.

It takes 3 years to train a paramedic. Under the Tories 10 year pay freeze for nurses and paramedics (with payrises for themselves of course) many have quit. Leading to the situation today where there is a severe shortage of paramedics which is one of the reasons why ambulance wait times are so high.

Another reason is how hospitals and care services have had their budgets decimated. Hospitals can't release patients without doctors being on call and available to do it. Patients who legally have to be released with adult care provision can't be released from hospitals until it's in place.

A real crazy situation happens every day at many hospitals where ambulances are waiting to release patients into the hospital care but the emergency ward is full and doctors are in surgery so ambulance staff have to wait for say 4 hrs with the critical patient in the ambulance after their shift has finished... and of course many are leaving the profession.

Of course none of the damage being done to public services which will be around for a very long time affects any of these tories who go to private hospitals.

Currently the Tories are recruiting as many South Africans and Australians as they can to train them up to be Paramedics and Paramedics assistants. But they won't be ready (the Paramedics) until 2025.

Some of the Decimation to Adult Care Services has meant many towns all across the UK have stopped doing things like healthcare needs assessments and instead they now refer people to local charities staffed by volunteers. This is one of the reasons Hospitals have such a hard time releasing people. The budgets for social workers has been crushed. I know because two social workers I know gave up and left the country to work elsewhere. One of the things which affected them was having ever increasing caseloads. One social worker told me they had 10 000 and the worst thing was checking up on a patient to hear... He / She is Dead. The irony of it all is now they're working for Australia and now the Tories who drove them away are trying to get them back.

People focus way too much on the trivial affairs.

The single most important thing is the damage the Tories do and have every one believing they're doing a great job. And the good that any other government coming in would do by undoing their policies.

Including but not limited to their policy of removing free university tuition for Nurses and free Living Allowance grants... now they're shocked people aren't applying for a job where your pay is frozen by the government for ten years and you have to pay back your tuition out of your frozen salary.

Nurses have been going to food banks under the Tories while they've been claiming expenses for heating their stables from taxpayers.

So now one of them is saying out loud he would like to raise Corporation Tax.

Great. Just send all the businesses to Europe, Sunak. It doesn't matter if the pound devalues, you gave me an extra tenner a month to make up the difference.

To all the people who work in the U.K. don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.

Quit being scared of a Corporation Tax hike. It still wont be that high. This is right wing propaganda to convince lemmings only tax breaks for the rich are good.

1. Nothing says "moving away from the Boris Johnson era" quite like his most senior and longest serving cabinet minister taking over.

2. This is now just demonstrably untrue. If you want to see a stark example of the utter contempt the Tories have for the British public its in the following number.

126

126 covid lockdown breaking fines. Fines for breaking laws THEY WROTE. Fines for having weekly "wine time Fridays" and birthday parties and leaving do's for colleagues straight after having press conferences telling the public their alzheimer suffering grannies just had to die alone in nursing homes because you weren't allowed to visit them. Parties while kids fell behind on their education and into mental health crises from being unable to see their friends. No wonder the economy got utterly wrecked under Johnson. No one in his government could apparently count higher that 2. "How many people are at this gathering? One, two, two, two again, two, two...just the two. Gotta obey those rules...guffaw guffaw" *quaffs taxpayer funded wine

If youre under the mistaken impression that Im supporting Sunak or the Tories I suggest you reread my post.

I was just talking about their chances at the next election. Of course their brand is damaged. But Sunak is polling the best after the debates, because he is simply making more coherent points.

As for Labour not having any fines, that brownie point doesnt even come close to resulting in me rewarding Starmer with my vote after what hes done to JC.

1. I didn't suggest that. I'm pointing out how stupid the notion of "rebranding" is under those circumstances. Then again the great British public are gullible fùcking morons and will probably fall for it.

2. I don't care if you vote for Labour or not. I don't. But empty suit Starmer is still better than anyone connected to the Johnson regime. To have had Liz Truss in a great office of state is an utter embarrassment. The number of times I've seen her in interview losing connection to the Tory hive mind and descending into a stuttering, gibbering wreck because she's utterly incompetent. It got to that point because Johnson would only appoint sycophants which meant he was scraping the earth underneath the barrel for cabinet appointments whilst more competent MP's sat on the back benches refusing to take part in the clown show and others were effectively pushed out of the party like Rory Stewart. The only one of the previous leadership candidates who didn't seem like a complete and utter plum and who I still like to listen to now because he seems like a genuinely intelligent and evidence led politician even if I don't agree with much of his politics.

People have short memories. Honestly Johnson would have gotten away with it if it wasn't one thing after another after another.

Not at all. He's proven himself completely untrustworthy, is clearly only out for himself, would stab his own mother in the back if that's what it took to make him PM, is shifting the party Right, because supposedly that's the only way to make it electable, has shown no consistent morals of any kind...

Seems like a Tory to me... Except it's worse for 1 reason, his victory would permanently take Labour away from the Left, never to return. Whereas Tories are who they are and will remain the same regardless.

Got to say, I probably have never more agreed with a post on KMC than I do with this one. 👆

They are and unashamedly so. Liz Truss went to a comprehensive school and her parents were left of New Labour. I can relate to this because I know the stagnant opportunity in comprehensive schools, I went to one.

There is little to no ambition in comprehensive schools other than to do a meaningless 9-5 job with whatever perks the trade union gets from government, usually a Labour one. This is why Brexit was so common in the North. After the Eastern bloc was introduced into the free market, minimum wage jobs that require little to no ingenuity were flooded with eastern European immigrants and the labour strongholds felt betrayed by new Labour. I mean ffs, I live in a seat that voted Labour since the 1930s as most of the ones around me as I live in the red wall. I live here, I've seen it first hand.

You all make fun of Boris' incompetence and I'm confident you all made fun of him back when he was a journalist, let alone, Mayor of London. Yet, he won more red wall seats than any other Conservative in history and still got a majority without the need for Scottish seats. IYRC, he won 7 less than May and finished with 6. He also regained a Tory majority in the commons and a 4th consecutive Tory victory. There were only two times this happened, the other was 1992.

And how did he do this? A simple phrase. "Let's get Brexit done."

I hope those words eat your red hearts.
