Then why did she agreed that she holds no claim on him?

Because it wasn't time........YET.

She didn't say she has claim on him in future. Even if Lucifer dies, it's not clear Death can reap him.

i don't know what some of you still arent getting?

yes lucifer can "die" under the right circumstances. for example, yahweh could kill him if he wanted to- and in that case maybe it would be death who came to collect him afterwards. who knows how it works when beings on lucifer's level die?

but that doesn't mean death herself has the ability to kill lucifer (under her OWN power) in a thread like this, so it's irrelevant. that would be like saying that someone dreaming about being more powerful than lucifer puts morpheus above him by default. it doesn't work like that.

and also, lucifer has the power to withhold death from anyone he chooses, for as long as he wants-

which also indicates superiority over death of the endless.

You realize Lucifer's equal (at least), died right?

If you can die, under ANY circumstance no matter how improbable, you are not above Death. How do you not understand that? Everything that begins, ends.

ok? obviously the brothers can die under the right circumstances. i JUST SAID that.

but we don't really know what happens to them after they die. do they just cease to be, or does death of the endless come to collect them? that has never been shown afaik.

you're not getting the point here.

lets say yahweh personally came and destroyed lucifer, and death ended up being the one who collected him afterwards. that DOESN'T mean that she has the ability to kill lucifer under her OWN power. in that case it would have still been yahweh that killed him, and death basically just gave him an uber ride to the afterlife. this is NOT the same thing as death herself stepping in and killing lucifer.

iow- if death of the endless cannot kill lucifer under her own power, then his potential to "die" through OTHER means is irrelevant to this thread.

Brother, if something can DIE under any circumstance, it's within Death's power or she's not the true Death. Why can't you understand this? Only a truly omnipotent being is beyond Death (and hence it's power).

we don't share feats my dude.

if yahweh personally killed lucifer, that doesn't mean death of the endless gains the ability to kill lucifer under her OWN power by default. she didn't generate the power necessary to initially cause the death- she's just driving the hearse to the cemetery afterwards. understand the difference?

the fact that carey himself has lucifer as the second most powerful being in all of creation (in the same series where he had the 3 most powerful characters of the endless -destiny, death, and dream- appear) should also be enough for people to understand that he is above them.

but in the end lucifer never died in carey's series, so it's totally unknown how that would have played out anyway. maybe death would have collected him, or maybe not. who knows.

Wonder what reaps Death when she dies.
