I am not sure how our law would look at something like this. If the fetus is viable, and the person knew the woman was pregnant, and stabbed her with the intent of killing the child, that, in my opinion, is murder.

With manslaughter, you intend to hurt the person, but not to kill. If you intended to kill the baby, you should be charged with murder.

Well even if a person agrees that abortion is fine up until the final day of a pregnancy, that doesn't equate them to someone who actively goes out and takes a life. That's just a ludicrous piece of hyperbole.

I agree. A woman here in Australia was 32 weeks pregnant, and had an abortion because she feared her baby would be born with Dwarfism. The child was viable, could survive outside the womb. The woman threatened to kill herself if the child wasn't killed. She had an abortion, the baby didn't have Dwarfism. This was a baby girl who didn't need to die. Just because the woman wanted that baby dead, doesn't mean doctors had to kill it. She could have been born alive and adopted.
