From that website:
"Oral contraceptives (OCs) are more than 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly, and they are safe for nearly all women. More than 70 million women use the pill worldwide, but incorrect use is common, thus lowering its annual typical effectiveness to about 92 percent."
These women obviously dont want children hence why they take it. but its still not 100% effective which was the point i made earlier.
"However, oral contraceptives are not recommended for women at high risk of cardiovascular disease or women over 35 years old who are heavy smokers. Also, certain health problems may become worse with pill use."
Like I said some people dont use it because of the side effects. That entire page supports what I said! Infact theres an entire section: Side effects and health that is about 10 paragraphs long.
"A recent animal study has raised questions about the connection between hormonal contraceptives and the risk of HIV infection. The study found that rhesus monkeys given the hormone progesterone were more likely to become infected after vaginal exposure to simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) than monkeys that had not been given the hormone.
The finding raises the possibility that contraceptives containing progestins, which are synthetic versions of the natural hormone progesterone, may increase the risk of acquiring HIV infection among humans. Oral contraceptives, injectables, Norplant and the LNg-IUD contain progestins." - obviously with condoms this isnt such a problem bt its yet another factor discouraging women from using the pill.
Sorry If i'm being ignorant of something but why did you post that link? I thought you were trying to sell the case of contraceptives?
