Second trimester abortions aren't illegal in California." The bevy of Supreme Court decisions mentioned in this report were in response to challenges to laws enacted by the states following Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton to clarify or, more often, to circumscribe these decisions. Although the Court in Roe v. Wade clearly gave the states the right, once a fetus has achieved viability, to regulate and even proscribe abortion except where appropriate medical judgment finds it necessary to preserve the life or health of the woman, the states did not need to codify the Court's guidelines in their statutes. Indeed, 10 states have no specific statutes dealing with postviability abortions.
Many, on the other hand, still have laws "on the books" that were overturned directly or de facto by the 1973 and subsequent Court decisions. For example:
• Three states (MI, NH and RI) have among their formal statutes laws that prohibit abortion after quickening;
• Five have laws prohibiting abortion in the third trimester (FL, GA, IA, SC and VA);
• Seven have statutes that permit abortion only when the woman's life is endangered (DE, ID, KS, MI, NH, NY and RI);
• Nine have laws prohibiting abortion after a certain number of weeks' gestation, usually 20 or 24 (CA, DE, MA, NV, NY, NC, PA, SD and UT);
• Eleven permit abortions only if the woman's life is in danger or if there is a "serious," "grave" or "irreversible" risk to her health (IN, MA, NV, NC, ND, OH, PA, TX, UT, VA and WY).
All are unconstitutional in light of the decisions mentioned earlier."
Homicide is a legal term. Post-viability abortions I don't agree with on ethical grounds without medically mitigating circumstances. That doesn't make them murder.
Well now, you can't really know that now can you. She may not have been eating right, she may have smoked, she may have intentionally harmed herself. A fetus has died, and under the same premise that a fetus should be treated like an independent human being, its death should clearly be investigated.
Hmmm... Either something changed or planned parenthood lied to me... Damn liberals. I did some research just now, looks like second trimester abortions are indeed legal in Ca., but very rare and usually only done due to medical conditions. Nasty, but thanks for the input.

LOL... Thanks for the link, I liked them all, especially Stone Def (reminds me of the Religion Forum peeps) and Profundus Maximus, "big words" and "Latin" so true... LOL
I got some really good information, now. First, a foetus is shaped lke a baby from 5 weeks old. Also, IT CAN FEEL what you use to kill it. It will know that you are killing it because it can feel it.
Besides which, even if you do have an abortion, (this only applies to women), your body wll still change and all that, because the hormones have been triggered off andf they won't stop.

Really? Does it have arms and legs, or just a tail?

It is known that the fetus does not feel pain until at least week 22. Tests have proven this. A 5 week old fetus feels no pain, as the fetus has not yet developed a cerebral cortex.

For about a week, the womans body may continue to progress with signs of pregancy, but once her body realises there is no longer a baby, it will reduce the hormones to her body, making her body return to normal.
Please don't rely on pro-life propaganda to make your case. Everyone knows pro-lifers talk out there arseholes.

Ah but so does proabortion people.You have the right to choose!But who would want to consider killing a baby or not?That does not sound like a choice I would like to make.
In fact it sounds pretty selfish if you ask me.jm 🙂

A wide range of meanings...figure your own.
Well it seems so strangely off topic - scared of venom - what, the baby? The babies impact on their life? Something else in there bodies?
Keep the tongue? In the period when a foetus can be legally aborted their is no tongue to keep.
As to the wide range of meanings - if you don't wish to share your opinion with others why do you post? What purpose is achieved with this super cryptic posting style?

Sometimes such a choice may have to be considered. Sometimes there is simply no option other than abortion.
