Abortion

i rather be aborted then live in a slum house with no nice clothes to wear, or good food to eat. it would save alot of hurt too...you see how kids like that grow up. They get mocked at school for being poor. and alot of times they follow in footsteps and have kids young too or get into drugs alcohol(dont get me wrong, not all kids of teens do, but alot that grow up in that environment do)

True, although there are a great number of adoptive children who grow up never worrying about their past, or sometimes never actually knowing they were adoptive. And in a way every action has consequences, and reproduction, pregnancy, sex, are some of those that are the most life changing. It never has been easy, and I still believe in responisblity. And surely this teen in question has family who could help? Though granted they may advocate abortion to. And here is Australia at least it is pretty much impossible for a mother and child, regarldess of age, to starve to death. A good social welfare system, and living allowances, and the like, along with adoption work to insure a girl/women has choices and doesn't need to think - the only option is an abortion as if I have it it will end up starving to death.

not all teens have parents who can help... and even so its still hard to just rely on them. look at my cousin, she had a kid when she was 17. she lived fine the first few years with her kid cause her parents helped out alot they let her finish high school even paid for collage for her. Now 8 years later she is having trouble. She can't find a job even with her education, she was robbed and had everything stolen from her house including money for her next months rent. she is terrified to lose her child and probably will because she cant afford to feed her. She wants to move back home with her parents so she can get back on track. but the father of the child will not allow it because he wants to be close to his kid. She isnt allowed to move out of town until the child is 16 and can decide on her own where she wants to live.....that is if my cousin doesnt get her taken away before then.

Its a terrible situation, I agree, but it is not necessarily the child's fault that there are not jobs available and that there are criminals. After all, similar things can happen to people who wait to have children to the mid or late 20's, or later. There is always a chance that one could loose their job, and maybe fall into despair at the situation. But it sounds like your cousin cares for the child a lot, and I doubt she could be thinking to herself in present times "I wish I had had an abortion, it would have helped all concerned"

well she is thinking about giving it away now to the father instead of it being taken away when its to late..... which i think is a bad idea cause after 8 years the kid is used to living with her mother.

Anyways the point i was getting to i don't think people should be bringing children into the world and raising them until they are done there education, and they have a lifetime career and are financially ready for it cause i don't think its fair for a child to live the way my cousins kid is living right now. So abortion is a thing to consider in a case like that.

Perhaps, although in today's world, or in fact any time frame, there is always doubts about financial security, and it is near impossible to get a life time job. There is the eternal chance always around the corner of a stock market crash, or another depression, some of the reasons why one here people saying "should we really bring children into such a messed up world?" Though I do think people should avoid having kids while still in school, but there are better ways to avoid pregnancy during school then getting pregnant and having an abortion.

oh i totally agree there is better ways, people shouldnt use abortion as a birth control... in that case i do see it as being selfish. but birthcontrol isnt 100% and depending on the case, if your birth control didnt work i think its ok to consider it...not saying just choose it right away, look at adoption/keeping it too but i dont think that abortion is something that shoud be considered wrong to do. i think its good as a choice.

No it's never ok to take away rights, but anyone who argues that abortion is better for the kid is lying to themselves. Abortion is better for the mother, and if you have no problem with sacrificing a fetus that won't know the difference to save the mother the trouble of giving birth than you honestly have no problem with the truth of abortion. But if you think that you are somehow doing to fetus a favor by saving it from dealing with all the 'troubles of life' you seriously need to think again.
Afro i know that an abortion isnt in the best interest opf the kid i wasnt saying it was so will u stop jumping me everytime i mention the kid. i was simply pointin out to JM that while adopted kids may have "loving parents who love you and have a whole life ahead of you. When you get an abortion.
You are destroying that child's future or maybe that child would be the next president or have a great job." they may also turn into the next harold shipman.

"I would....just as I would do my utmost to help a friend in need....just as I would try to stop a friend from committing suicide, cheating, stealing, or lying....these things would be wrong...maybe we understand the reasoning behind abortions at times but sometimes people need to be kept from making bad decisions"

Only the human race could be so arrogant as to assume that they are needed in other peoples lives.

Being supportive as you seem to be is no bad thing but I wouldn't take away my friend's right to choose an abortion. That's being the furthest from a good friend as possible. Why should a girl have a baby, live with a baby, raise a baby, just coz you think it's wrong?

The bottom line that everyone seems to be overlooking here is the fact that you have no right, reason or leverage to speak about or influence someone's life in such a way that for them will be permanent and for you, will not be lasting for any duration. When that woman is living with a baby she didn't want, you say "Good" and then just return to your daily life. She can't as a result of you and people like you.

Freedom is dangerous? Well let me ask you something Julie, do you support all the troops that have fought wars over the years to protect or "gain" freedom for your country? Because if so then freedom was so dangerous at that point that it cause a war. Yet the point is, you can't live in a so-called "most free nation on Earth" where "many people have died for our freedoms" only to claim freedom should be taken away based on the fact that idiots exist.

Who's the bigger idiot? A girl wanting an abortion for an unjust reason or a girl saying abortion should be illegal based on the fact that "God believes it's wrong"? Motorcycles, cars, kitchen knifes, glass bottles, chainsaws, infinate lists of things in our world are dangerous. You don't take them away on account of the idiots though.

If it were a mutant would you flush?

yOU never know what could happen because the kid is abortied and there fore has no future. But I bet they reather live then be killed and not growing up.
I think you can argee wjith me when I say it is better to live then it is to die?JM

"But I bet they reather live then be killed and not growing up."

Yeah coz we know they're just kicking back in the womb thinking "I hope I don't get aborted, like seriously. That would suck."

Better to live than to die? I'm sure plenty prisoners of war who were tortured would beg to differ there.

not in all cases

In what cases is it not?JM

as an examples when machines keep people alive, but we have another thread covering this

This topic is still at large? Wow, this sh!t really will never end.

Forgive us for wanting to discuss issues such as abortion with that societal plague that is intellectualism.

Oh look, my sarcasm radar just blew up.

Machines? What does that have to do with abortion?JM

Machines? What does that have to do with abortion
sometimes premature babies needs machines to have a chance to survive. It happens that premature born babies will become "vegetables" 100% dependable on help 24/7. So then is the question is it still better to live

Inleast they are dieing becaues there is something wrong with them and not becaue the mom killed them while having an abortion. Then I argee with you!JM
