Well Omega, it is obviously human, and you just said yourself that it's alive, so I'm saying it's a living human being. Is it a sentient being? No. However if you are willing to show me a valid source that explains why an embryo is not a living human being, I will keep an open mind about it.
And I can't exactly say I'm AGAINST abortion because I don't want it outlawed, but it's definitely not my favorite practice. I just explained to you why I think the pill is better than abortion. And again, in order to get an abortion (chemical or surgical) you must first be pregnant. When the birth control pill prevents the implanted egg from implanting the woman is never pregnant, therefore that's not a chemical abortion. I get what your saying, it does kill the embryo. But I still think killing an embryo before any growth is possible is better than aborting it as a partially developed fetus. If you don't see a difference...good for you. I do. So to answer your question in a nutshell, no I would not disallow the Pill until we come up with something better. The Pill isn't perfect by any means, but it's better than abortion. Especially abortion after 12 weeks.
I'd have to say basic logic for anyone who is in fact "against abortion" would still be in favor of the pill though. Because if you do make the pill illegal, that is only going to increase the abortion rate. Trying to save a few fertilized eggs you will in result end up causing a sharp increase in aborting partially developed fetuses.
