Well you were the one bringing up his midsection, were you not?
Re: What do you think of the Namor casting?
Originally posted by lawest9They've tried to be as close as possible to the most accurate portrayal of Namor -- the Bendis/Maleev one.
The character is being played by a 5 foot 8 inch Mexican actor with a beard and mustache and is a little bit chubby around the waist, they've made Namor barely recognizable to the masses, what do you think?
I'm glad they're sticking to the source material. 👆
I think that they chose well, his height is a bit of an issue. 5’8” is a stretch from 6’2”, but I look at Chris Hemsworth as Thor. He certainly isn’t 6’7” approaching 700Lbs. Henry Cavill isn’t 6’3” he’s 6’1”, and most of the people that have played Batman weren’t 6’2” Ben Affleck being the exception.
Hopefully they make him look taller and never have stand next to Captain America.

Even Tom Cruise looks normal height in his movies when in reality he's Bada height at best.

Cruise is a popular example, yeah.
Just 5ft 7 ¾ (172.1 cm).

My problem is this dude doesn't even look like he lifts.
Meh.
Took Hemworth 11 years to reach his current level of muscle mass.
There are film tricks for everything these days.
Originally posted by ODGYeah, apparently "Atlantis" is changing to "Talocan" for the MCU.
Before this gets moved, I'm perfectly fine with the Namor casting. Guy's got the smoldering look. Atlanteans don't need to look like real-life Olympic swimmers because you cannot expect such real-life physiques to apply to fictional Atlantean physiologies in any way. Fact is, they're going with an Aztec themed Atlantean culture.
