is sirius really dead?

well.. I dun think the ministry sees him as guilty anymore.

Remember when Dumbledore says to Fudge dat he's been chasing the wrong guy for 12 years.. wasnt it Sirius? or the word shouldnt be chasing.. coz Sirius only broke out of Azkaban for 2 years naw.. well.. maybe I got the word wrong in the first place. But I assume, he's talkin bout Sirius.. n even if not, Dumbledore must have told Fudge dat Sirius' innocent n he should listened to Dumbledore for he's been wrong all tis time.. but hey.. he still may not.
but then again, his body's not there.. it vanished, ait?! T__T

anyways... Sirius comes back n live happily ever after, well uhm.. dats lil bit too unoriginal.. i doubt Rowling would do dat 😛

I really reall dont want sirus to die, he was my favorite, im so glad the movie is coming out, i hope its just like i thought.

Yeah I hope that his part is as good in the movie as it is int he book....but movies never really are better.....MOST of the time.

Okay guys! Here's the scoop, Sirius got hit with a RED cruse, and thats definetly not Avada Kedavra! Know what it is? Stupefy! So that means if Sirius holds any real danger, its whats beyond the veil...Now, why can't Sirius come back as a ghost and what's beyond the veil?? That's the stump I am on! HELP! 🙁

Come on guys, you have to put 2 and 2 together! Siruis was not hit with a deadly curse!! It was red just like Stupefy...so whatever is beind the veil seals the fate.

I am just so mad that Rowling left us in the dark like this...how can anyone hate Sirius Black? Kill off Wormtail or someone, not the good guys!

yeah....sirius may not be dead....but he is stuck behind the veil....However.......he did escape from the unescapeable Askaban prison...so maybe he can get out from there.

Probably...the only thing that really gets me is that the curse he was hit with was red, and Bellatrix had been attempting to stun Sirius with Stupefy...which is not a deadly curse. Also, voices were coming from behind the veil, so someone has to be behind there. I think Sirius is making a comeback. Just because Rowling said that she killed him off doesn't mean that he is gone forever. Sirius fell behind the veil with his wand, mind you, and he never gave up on Harry, EVER! So I don't think he is going to start now. And how is it that he stuck behind the veil? What is keeping him there first of all? And where does Luna Lovegood come into the mix? How come she seems to be this special child? Can only people who have seen death hear them? If so, Neville would have heard it, right? Maybe someone who has lost a parent/s then, because Neville's aren't dead. I am asking for a lot on insight here, but I think we all really need to work this thing out properly.

Yes I do think Luna will bring us ALOT of new information in the next book...the new characters always do.... 🙂 As for the veil maybe its some kind of demention. Maybe Sirius isn't dead.....but he's imprisoned behind the veil. I wonder if Luna just thinks her mom is dead....but she's really not. But the tricky thing is....was even LUPIN...said there was no coming back from behind the veil. Maybe it has a magical shield that cannot be broken. I dunno. but I am very curious about it.

Everybody is clearly in denial, Sirius is dead. In all interviews Rowling has never given any hints that Sirius may be still alive. Rowling is an intelligent writer many of the terms used and events that take place in Harry’s world are related to real life; crossing the veil of death in real life is a metaphor for dying. Religious people believe they will be rejoined with their lost loved ones ‘beyond the veil’ so it no coincidence that the chapter where Sirius’ dies is called ‘beyond the veil’. Rowling is just taking a metaphor and making it literal within her world. The veil in the department of mysteries is literally a doorway to the afterlife from which none may return, that is why it is in the department of mysteries because nobody understands what happens after we die. Also Lupin says that ‘He can’t come back, because he’s dead’ and Dumbledore clearly states, “It is my fault that Sirius died.’ Now I don’t doubt that it is a possibility that Lupin could be wrong, but Dumbledore would know if Sirius was still alive.

However I agree with some of the comments made about Luna Lovegood, it is a bit of a coincidence that this troubled character was introduced in the same book that Sirius dies. Unfortunately I have no theories yet as to how these things are connected.

I hope that Sirius will make some appearances in the next two books in the same way Harry’s parents did, only because he is my favourite character.

i think somehow siruis and harry will be able to communicate somehow like harry did with his parents in the 4th book i think that he is dead though but who knows

Well, you guys have great points, but an't people come back from the dead in real life? Just because Sirius is caught up in a metaphor for death doesn't mean he can't come back. Also, remember we are in the Wizarding world, and people can come back in other ways besides flesh and blood. The veil could be anything, maybe Sirius is just pertified beyond hte other side. I think it would be a good idea if they actually got Sirius back to find a way and place him in the time jar...don't ya think? But thats a extremely slim possibility. I am hastey to think that Sirius is alive, but I really want him to be and there is my doubt arisen. But I have no doubt that Sirius is coming back, one way or another.

That's like a lawyer trying to defend a witness who he doesn't even have the statement for...so read the book, and get back to me okay man? And also, I would request in the longrun that you don't call us stupid fools when you are the one who spells dead d-e-d, and you with a u. Take the time to type the words properly if you are going to insult us...SIRIUS SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!! It doesn't matter if he is alive or not, but the guy is coming back. That's a promise.

somethings got to happen with the mirror. what is the point of telling us about it

I really think that something has got to happen with the mirror. I don't think Rowling just brought it in to show us what might have been if Harry had used it. Perhaps breaking it would reach out the connection farther instead of being one of one, maybe its twenty different pieces connected to Sirius. I don't know, anyone have any insight on this one? And another thing, Rowling never said what the other mirror was, was it one connected to a wall (like a beauty parlor thing) or a small carry around one? Maybe Sirius has it with him, and he's just temporarily indisposed. There are too many factors signifying his return, and only one spell to hit him, and that wasn't even deadly.

ok listen..... it did say that he was hit with a jet of red light but... then it said he was like come on i know u have more than that......then he was hit with another spell and it did NOT say what color the light was!! I think that he disapparated from there back to his house to get buckbeak then left and went somewhere else to hide!!!

How could he disapparate if he fell behind the veil? Also, if he got stunned then he couldn't do anything, and why would he run? He has no reason to run as he has somewhere to hide. Finally, he did get hit with a RED curse.
