sentinels do one thing very well, they give the x-men an opportunity to kick major ass...
Well, the X-Men and Magneto have already teamed up in X-Men 2, right? So having them team up again against a foe like Apocalpyse or Sinister would be VERY VERY redundant.
Whereas if the Phoenix shows up, along with the Shi'ar and some Sentinels, we can see some action as everyone tries to harness the sheer power that is the Phoenix Force.
Also expect a stronger Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. I SERIOUSLY doubt they'll lower the ranks and have only Mystique, Magneto, and Pyro. Let's see some Avalanche, the return of Sabretooth (If done correctly), and other favorites. Mastermind, anyone?

Thank god that she isn't going to play Shadowcat, that was the only thing that really urked me about castings. I still say Michelle Tratchenberg lol.
And they're won't be the Shi-Ar, because FOX has already said that they don't want to dip into aliens. AND! Juggernaut's ablities will be organic in X3, because the Gem of Cytorrak that gave him the Juggernaut powers, will not be in there, because FOX doesn't want to have Magic, either.
Mutants are fine as they are.
As for the plot, I think this wil be the best one yet, and the story will probably be a huge collision of many things, but not Apocalypse, Sentinels, Shi-Ar, anything like that, FOX has already proven wrong.
