^^No one doubts that. But T2, oh T2, sweet precious T2. I'll follow you to the end of the earth oh beatiful brave and strong T2. Lead me to the finish line T2, so we may finally rest and lay in all the glory that is T2. I will make sweet love to you T2. Forever, forever.
😂 I suppose that is how we all feel inside about T2.
Overall the first one is the best of the bunch. The story and music are awesome and even some of the visuals are better (the half-skull face in T1 looks better than it did in T2 and T3. T2 being the worst since the eye doesn't move at all and T3 being second, but looking just a bit off being CG instead of "solid." The puppet head with the moving eye in the first worked the best.).
The first one also had some pretty sweet action scenes and the Terminator is much more menacing then "Austin" or "Hastings." The Terminator kills more people in the police station then the T1000 or T-X combined. And there is something to be said for holding an SPAS-12 shotgun in one hand and an AR-18 in the other hand and shooting the crap out of everything you see.
That said, Terminator 2 is a much better feel-good, awesome action film. You've got the one-handed lever-action reload, you've got powerful scenes of the Terminator blasting the T1000 with the shotgun, you've got the bit where he jumps on the Semi-Truck with the Colt Commando, empties an entire magazine into the T1000, commandeers the truck and flips it over. You've got the M79 grenade launcher and the M134 minigun (though Jesse Ventura used it to greater effect in Predator).
T2 also pioneered CG technology making it a landmark in filmmaking. The story was still competent, though admittingly it was just a rehash of the first one with some extra side stories.
T3 did nothing new except add the newest computer effects to the Terminator universe to give us (in some respects) more believable visuals and better fight scenes. Now with CG the Terminators can literally just tear each other apart with anything. The hand fights in T3 are better choreographed then in T2, but the emotional impact isn't as great because it's "been there done that." It's also hard to believe that Kristanna (while still tall and in decent shape) can be tossing Arnold around further then he can her.
The minigun scene in T3 was worse then in T2 and looked CG to me.
The ending was pretty cool, but made little sense. Between the time that Connor and Brewster leave the base, the Terminator somehow loses all the skin on the left side of his body. This, by the way is awesome to be honest. Not even the advanced effects in T2 could accomplish a complete mechanic arm and leg that Arnold walks with as well as an opening chest plate and what not. The only problem with this scene is we do not get any good detailed full body shots of the totally messed up Terminator. We get some good head and upper torso shots, but I want to see that mangled body in detail.
Bottom line: I like the movies in the order they were released, but they are all decent because, seeing Arnold with his skin ripped off revealing a mechanism beneath while shooting the crap out of stuff is awesome no matter how you slice it.
T3 SUCKED TO THE S**THOUSE! They made Arnies character far too wussy and emotional, and there werent the same gory scenes as in T2 and 1. In T2 making a Terminator that could replicate stabbing weapons was the bomb and gave so much opportunity for heads being split open and eyes being poked out with fingers of polyalloy hehe. And T1 is good coz I just love the vintage feel of it. its effects and sound are so-so by todays standards, and it is this that makes the movie a relic (in a good way). In T3 Conner was a wuss, Terminator was a wuss, everyone was a wuss. Think about all the violent, action packed scenes in T2, there was nothing like that in T3. No Linda Hamilton and No Edward Furlong was another big dissapointment. Also the CGI looked so fake. Terminators one-liners were average, t-x was a woman (not trying to be sexist) and she made the movie feel more like a horror movie, Not enough gunplay like in the first 2, weapons were crap including the minigun and there were no cool weapons like the teargas launcher and m40 (oh baby....m40*drool*), i mean come on who woulda thought a tear gas launcher could be such a pain in the ass! Its those little things like using tear gas canisters as projectiles rather than for their primary use thatmake t2 look more planned. The t-850 was also a dumb ass and finally Claire Danes should NOT have been in that movie, I dunno what the producers were smoking when they chose her.
In conclusion: I SPIT ON T3! MOSTOW RUINED IT!
