His invulnerability is psionic - and it blocks/buffer Galactus' blast -- until he gets killed by the same blast, that is. He doesn't 'add' anything to his own power.

Buffer means barrier here. It means he can block his enemies attacks, which means he's invulnerable.

It has nothing to adding power to his own... in short, Gladiator gave it his all, went all out, the best Glads we have seen, but to no avail against Galactus.
