spiderman did a good job of avoiding the x-men while they were trying to CONTAIN spiderman.. not fight him, not hurt him, CONTAIN HIM... and beat his ass? I don't think so... he hit wolverine once and sent him back.. and then what? wolverine was up two panals later like nothing happened....
perhaps the reason people think wolverine can beat spiderman stems from the fact (as riceroost put it) that wolverine's flat out beat spiderman twice and punked him out on two other occasions... just maybe... or idunno.. you could read some of the damned thrad to find out why people think wolive takes this...

Wolverine isn't smart enough to use his martial arts experience effectively. He's not very effecient either, I don't think any other superhero has such a high percentage of getting their gut pierced. Spidergirl made Wolverine stick his own claws into his neck. Does Logan sound like a martial arts master? He might know the skills, but he's completely reckless. I was just reading a bunch of Wolverine comics, and in every one, he seems to get pierced in the chest or sliced in the stomach. He really is a very careless person. The last two Wolverine comics I read were Snikt! and Xisle. In Snikt, he gets pierced by needles through the chest and faints, and in Xisle, he gets clawed in the stomach by a giant gorilla, and faints. For that reason, I think his martial art skills should be negated in this debate. He simply sucks at using them.
