he is referring to their 1st fight in the 80's prior to wolverine knowing his physical regenerative limits..

wolverine guessed that would be the only way to stop him.

on panel future evidence and regenerative upgrades has shown his neck vertebra's cannot be broken its bn tried by Hulk and others..

and the Xavier protocals said to kill wolverine permanently one needed to cut his head and seperate it from his body

Is there any scans of that fight?

the 1st wolvie and spidey fight?

Wolverine told parker that Spidey doesnt have the brass/personality for such an act while he did..

Parker is just soft all around for such methods.

plus in an X men storyline he was in a similar dilemma with Cassandra Nova Logan told her how fast his claws are released gave her the MPH and how fast he could out think her b4 she locked onto his brain to telepathically stop him.

I remember Spidey allowing Logan to get top position on him. Could be wrong.

at his best i think Spidey had the other upgrade and was stabbed by Logan in a training fight that spidey purposely escalated with Logan.
