i have to totally disagree with most of you. this movie is TOTALLY going to rock. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (last i heard it was Johnny Depp that was being concidered for Willy Wonka). if you had ever read the book i think this combination (t.b. and j.d.) will be perfect. the movie will be strange and slightly disturbing, just as the book made you feel.
Willy Wonka remake
I have to say that I was very excited about the remake of one of my childhood favorites. I also think that Johnny Depp is the perfect actor for the role of Willy. He will do a really great job. HOWEVER........what is Tim Burton thinking?????? I have read that he has no intentions of following the original film at all. He was quoted saying that he did not like the original or the book and that the film was weird and sappy???? I wonder if he realizes how much everyone enjoyed the original and what a classic it still is today??? I was really hoping for a newer enhanced version with hopefully some awesome special effects that still followed the original version. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I really hope that the remake doesn't dissappoint me.
