"real turmoil is something out of the norm that every other person hasnt gone through and gotten over in their life" so says you! Not nessarily eveyrone else.

And there are very few things out there that someone has done that someone else hasn't gone through also. If people only wrote about things like that, we'd have very few songs.

And don't you think that since people have gone though heartbreak and stuff with their parents that that's the rreason these bands have so many fans, they can relate to it. And the same thing happened to the memebers in the band.

prove it.

I can't 🙂, it's just my opinion

prove it.

prove what?

that its you're opinion.

first you have to define opinion

a thought or feeling that cannot be proved, but a way that you feel about a certain topic.

Yes, it's my opinion/"a thought or feeling that cannot be proved, but a way that you feel about a certain topic."

Because i can''t prove anything i believe or feel, nor can you

yes, and debating is so the other person can understand why you have that opinion about the topic of discussion, as i did in this thread, and as you did not do. and why would you even come to a movie discussion/debating page when you cannot debate without factual data? you will find yourself alone in alot of threads if you dont learn a more effective way of arguing other then asking for facts that arent there, again, everything that is said on this site is opinion, and if you are going to ask for proof about everyones opinion then that is just ridiculous.

word up man. That's what i say...but i won't let the bands i love get trashed, and i won't let someone else call me ignorant and a dumbass just because i don't like the same music they do, you gotta fight for what you believe in right?

Maybe... But then again I dont give a flying sh*t what other people think.

Dont get me wrong it's good that you fight for what you believe but, well, I tend to think along the lines of - If they are too narrow minded to accept that something they dont like can be good. Then stuff 'em, cos they are the ones missing out on all the wonders life offers to the open minded!

...dude i posted in reply to the guy who made this thread. He insulted the music i like basically(i interpreteted it that way) so i posted back with my opinion, and that's who we got here

anyway i'm tired, and i'm going to bed. c you tomorrow

heres a fact, blink 182's popularity have gone way down since they havent been played on mtv recently.

yeah but that means jack shit MTV doesnt know what music is anymore, they only know what money

Its not hard to figure out what appeals to a certain audience, the audience being teenage fans and the people doin the figuring being bands. Most of these bands prey on adolesence, having already been through the steps of most teens they know what the immediate pains of growing up consist of. Some of the artists feelings may be wrapped up in there lyrics somewhere, but they take there feelings and twist them with what they think appeals to the people who will be buying there albums. So instead of putting in there lyrics that they been through the lo points in life but there still here and that things can get better, they just keep shoveling key audiances things they can relate to. So they highlight the darksides of growing up because they know those are the hardest things of growing up, and thats all they sing about. every song is an elaboration of the last. If you dont believe me look at most of the rock bands today they all follow the same premise, the low points in life because they know it sells. There not being genuine there just being smart

yeah thats very true, i was merely saying that to show 113 how blink 182 has relied soley on mtv to become popular, i totally agree with everything you're saying.

yeah its sad how MTV influences music so much. they only ever play what is popular or what they think will be popular. there Morales rely soley on Greed and Sex

and passing bad music to the masses

Everyone are allowed to say that any kind of music sucks, without you going bananas and attacking them "Dewd, U be fvckin stoopid".

do you know why they sing about most of the dark sides of their life? cuz that's where you learn; once something bad has happened to you, you learn from it. so i think most bands (but not today's bands) describe how they feel/felt during a horrible situation, so most fans can relate to that and say "yeah i remember when that happened to me, but i totally learned from it." and i agree, MTV does not know how to play good music anymore. they mostly play what's popular, and not what's good! i think most bands are afraid of what the audience might think of them, so some of them MIGHT be fake or real and sing a load of bullshit, but it all depends on how they live up to their reputation that makes them a good artist (or if they can actually make decent music).
