When did this thread become about discussing the content of artists' lyrics?

This thread is about the simple fact that most music today sounds like the same..............it's like there are 3 different songs. 1 pop song.........1 rock song........and one rap song........and you have 15 different groups all playing the same song in their genre.

You cannot listen to a song and tell me if it is a Blink 182 song or a Good Charlotte song.........you have to wait untill the end of the song when they say, "that was blah blah blah by Blink 182"............

Same goes with rock.......you can't listen to a new song and say, "hey man, that's a new Staind song! It rocks!".........because you don't know if it's a new Staind song or a new Disturbed song or a new Nickelback song.................................all their music sounds the exact same.
You have to wait untill the radio disc jockey comes on and tells you who that new song was by..........

When you hear a Metallica song...........you know who it is right away, even if you've never heard the song before.

When you hear a Rob Zombie song.......you know who it is right away, even if you've never heard the song before.

That is the difference between good music and bad music (I do not even like Metallica but I do realize they make good music).........good music is innovative and has it's own style.........it's not a carbon copy of some other bands' music...............

And actually yes i can hear the difference between many of the bands i hear. And i can especially hear a big difference between the bands i really like.

And just because you can tell the difference between two or more bands doesn't mean they make "good music." I could clearly tell that it was metallica when i heard their new singer "st anger" but wow i also heard a load of CRAP when i heard that single. Same goes for a lot of their songs. And speek about music sounding the same. Late 70's and 80's heavy metal bands, ALL SOUND THE SAME. The Punk movement bands of the 70's and 80's ALL SOUND THE SAME. NYC underground punk bands ALL SOUND THE SAME. So there you go, as i stated before it's true for every genre. Get over thinking you have some superior musical taste than everyone else and go die

You are just crazy now.............the biggest punk acts ever sound nothing alike.........The Misfits......The Sex Pistols........The Clash......The Ramones..............none have ANYTHING in common except that they played raw music..........their tunes sounded nothing alike............The Clash and The Ramones would play more melodic sounds, the Clash being much slower paced than the Ramones. The Pistols were more aggressive and not a musically sound.........the Misfits had more of a Metal edge to them............the only thing that even put them in the same genre (punk) was their method towards making the music.........keeping it raw and imperfect, getting what they had to say out.....

Yes i have, and my friend subjected me to listening to all these bands. I couldn't tell the difference between one and the other. Ramones, The clash, the sex pistols, hated them all.

Also hate led zepplin, blacksabbath, ac/dc(like some songs).

And then theirs this underground punk scene which also all sounds the same.
