The Orcs are now ten feet away from the fore walls. Lit wicker baksets are being cast over the walls by Baranar's men, lighting the area. Baranar still holds his sword up high, as one of his men is shot down by an Orcish archer.

Corlindel hears the clamor of orcs attacking the gate while he watch the dun. behind the battlements "Soon or later if these stupid dun. dont attack, Baranar will need my help at the gate" He thinks.
Airwing, you roll 66. Into a shield, I am afraid.
Corlindel- no! They have no siege equipment at all- that was one of the basic points.
There is only the one gatehouse. There is also a sallying port but they don't know where that is.
Baranar's men do indeed have implements to repel ladders with them. Maybe a tad late to think of that, Corlindel, but good that you did nonetheless.
Suddenly, the Orcs at the front rank break and dash in towards the gate, hammering at it with tools. For a moment, they are vulnerable- and Baranar drops his sword. His men open fire.
Sadly, several of you were dummied by the Orcs into firing early, and so have not reloaded in time to fire again. Vardalain and Airwing cannot.

Palidan, I am afraid your shot goes nowhere.
The Orcs reach the walls. Their tactic now is thus. The front rank is starting to hammer at the gates. Each rank behind is holding its shileds up and forwards to protect the rank in front. The rear, unprotected rank is the one firing at you, and you canot fire at them without risk.
About 100 Orcs in all.
