Just popping in. Phoe, you went a bit crazy there. TheSun, I agree. Someone tell us where that quote is on everyone being in love with the wrong person. And this is why I said arguing about this is starting to get pointless. No one is changing anyones minds and we are just going in circles.

the sun i got it from another JK rowling site i dont remember where. it might have been the wrong one...if it was my mistake...i guess it was the 3rd one because 1 i dont lie and 2 i heard it on another site..

yeah we are going in circles katie said that multipule times i dont think anyone was paying attention though...and now i dont go on any other JK Rowling site except the official one...

I noticed, i'm just saying it again if people missed it.

Why am I here? Goodbye again.

Rogue makes a good point about Ron's view of Ginny and Hermione's relationships.

If you gauge them, they seem incredibly similar.

"Which one was Michael Corner?"
"The black one."
"I don't like him."

"What does she see in Krum anyway?!"
"Well, I suppose he's a Quidditch player...and he's internationally famous, isn't he..."
"Well, on top of it, he's a grouchy old git, isn't he?"

So ron doesnt like people who go out with people he has a platonic love for.

By your logic he wants Ginnys trousers on his yellow chudley cannons bedroom floor.

I agree with you completly. I'm with you there about the hero always getting the girl, that's usually the case with everything. Batman and Robin, you didn't see Robin the sidekick get the ladies, it was Batman. So yeah, that's true.

The problem I have with Ron and Hermione is because of there bickering or whatever. I don't see how that's them hiding there feelings because most of the stuff Ron says to Hermione, he really means it. So I don't see how that can turn to romance. Secondly, Ron's always bickered like that to Hermione, since they were 11 years old. To me, this is just Ron being Ron. He bickers like that to his sister Ginny, so the way he bickers with Hermione is like a friend/sister kind of way. No romance there for me. And yes, some R/HR shippers say the same for Hermione and Harry, but I think for both sides, once I see Hermione actually say "Ron is like a brother to me," or "Harry is like a brother to me" both sides is just speculation and opinion.

I think there are reasons why JKR makes Hermione and Harry face certain things together without Ron. Take POA for example, and Ootp. To me it shows that JKR wants Harry and Hermione to spend some time together.

I just don't think JK will stick to the classic 'hero gets girl' - she likes to be suprising. e.g obvious baddie (Snape) is actually good

😂

Well, I suppose that is a possibility, albeit a sickening one. No, I meant that he sees Hermione as a sister, probably.

Phoenix, it is very true that JKR loves to suprise us all, but so far its been plot-wise. I'm not sure if she'll take it into the shipping category, but I wouldn't be suprised if she did, she's been reading a lot of internet ship wars.

I agree with the point that Ron sees Hermione as more of a sister, he argues with Hermione like they're brother and sister, not in a budding romance. Plus he reacts the exact same way when Hermione dates Krum as when Ginny dates Micheal Coriner (sp?). I think thats just how Ron is, overprotective. If he really liked Hermione you'd think that he would treat her different then his little sister, right? I think Ron is just really awkward around girls, Hermione is the first girl he's really been friends with (as far as I can tell) and i just think he's fairly confused about male-female friendships and how to treat them. Do you treat them like one of the guys or are you supposed to like them? Do you have a to have a crush on every girl that you're friends with? To me these are the kind of things that I see Ron struggling with and being confused about. He's not rude to Hermione because he's a bad guy, but he just doesn't know how to act around girls that are his friend.

Where do people get these quotes? I haven't seen the JK quote regarding the mix up of love-interests in GoF. In fact, the only one I've seen is JK stating that GoF is the best place to look. Either I just haven't found the quote yet or you're lieing or passing on a lie that someone else started. Please show me where she said this.

You seem to not remember the picture we posted up a while ago. She said "Everyone is in love with the wrong people.[GoF]
🙄

exactly dark and rouge never saw it like that before but it makes real sense! he seems to be over protective like an older brother to both of them,.. well G2Gcya

Yes, Ron may be like an older brother figure, but that's only a possibility. Maybe his height over the other two has some significance.

JK Rowling replies -> lol Not saying... but you've had enough clues by now, surely?!

There ya go, hopefully this will refresh everyone's memory. I love all the quotes on there! 😄

I don't know where you got that from, but I just read the transcript of the World Book Day chat, and that quote wasn't there. Im assuming that this is a doctored poster?

I'm just re-posting that, hermione7 posted it on page 140 something, and I trust her sources. I remember reading all of those quotes at one time or another, but I don't have the time or energy to go find all of those sources just to convince you. If you don't trust us then that's your deal.

Okay, vacation, can't do. I'm back. I see you all are enjoying fighting over that quote, well, I don't think GoF is much to go by, though I find that quote unfamiliar. Anyway, I want to ask you all, why do you want your ship to work. I know someone asked someone this already, but I want to know from everyone. If this has already been discussed, sorry, I missed it. ^.^

😮 I have to admit, shipping isn't the most important thing to me, I much more interested in the plot! 😄 I ship cos its fun and I like to debate, and R/Hr jus seems the most logical choice to me.

One example which shows how little I ship - My best mate (who I've known 4 over ten years!) and I hav jus found out that we BOTH ship R/Hr, and we didn't know!

O.o Interesting. Can you go in a bit more detail on why it's a logical choice? Curious.

R/Hr logical? 😕 Hm, I always thought that people thought if it the other way; Harry and Hermione being the logical couple and Ron and Hermione being the dangerous, love/hate couple. To me Ron and Hermione don't make sense at all, but that's just me. I really hope we get some major answers regarding shipping in HBP

.... KKdave, for some people its logical, for others it isn't. Its what people think. Why do you you ship H/Hr? Why do you think its logical?
