i have only heard 1 TOOL song as of yet and its schism and i must say its really good. could any1 reccomand any other TOOL songs so i can judge wheather they r over-rated or not?

You mean decide whether you think they are or not.

Either way, you won't be in a position to be able to judge off a couple of listens of a few songs.

aenima , eulogy , third eye , h. , bottom , the grudge , part of me , parabol/a , 46 & 2 .... those are my favs

Just get an album.

Hearing half of those alone won't give you an idea. They're not a singles band.

Yeah their albums are better then just the songs standing by their self. I have both Aenima and Lateralus and they're both great albums.

i heard AENIMA.. not bad.. i guess i'll just get their album

my cousin loved schism so much that he used its guitar riff's in one of his songs in his album

ah i'm sure they wont cry to much over the borrowed riff, i doubt he'll do anything with it that'll better their efforts anyway

I'm sorry to say but MAYNARD IS GOD..... He has provided my life with music that speaks to me through lyrics and music. TOOL and A Perfect Circle are my Top two bands on my list of bands, only because of Maynards brilliant lyrics and vocals, but it's not all just Maynard, its his band that somehow finds a way to beat the crap out of music and say "THIS IS REAL MUSIC". With TOOLs amazing percussion section, with Danny Carrey, and their bass and guitar, are literally perfect. In APC Maynard finds a way to bring more of his poetic lyrics in a different kind of form. APC is more mainstream than TOOL. But TOOL would WHOOP APC's butt in a contest only because of the music played in the wonderful band. Im sorry to say that Maynard is one of the greatest rockers of all time, you might disagree with me, but i dont care, i have something to say and a finger to go with that response. if you catch my drift

I haven't sifted through all 12 pages of this thread but they will be releasing a CD this fall. It will be the first one from them in 4-1/2 years.

parabola and the the patient are the best songs

I always liked Schism the most. Though Parabol/Parabola are excellent as well. But you have to play them both, not just one or the other.

Lateralus , Eulogy , Opiate , Flood ..... my fav song from each CD ... well not including Salival ... which would be Pushit
