Anticipating

This song has lived up to its title before I actually listened to it.

Right off the bat, automatic 1 point deduction for sounding a little like Janet Jackson. But the bass line is great. It kind of reminds me of a little Sly and the Family Stone (a little, let's not go overboard here).

You can just envision Britney (as well as our fabulous Queen of the Britney thread herself) on the dance floor spouting out lines that spread over two stanzas like,

"I've been anticipating / This is our song we're playing / I wanna rock with you / you're feeling this right / let's do this tonight"

Harmless, fun song that's really easy to listen to!...it's just too bad it got the Janet Jackson deduction.

You have NO idea how surprised I am by that review! I am not the biggest fan of that song. I find it too cutesy. But then, I've seen the HBO DWAD special, with the video entrance. I've posted the link for the performance. It really annoys me!

Why the hell that song wasn't released I'll never know. It's a brilliant song, and she never even performed it live on her tour.

Damn! I had "What It's Like to Be Me" (honest!), but I took it off when I realised I had 15 songs. Though I was a little unsure about keeping both "Overprotected" versions, I decided to.

So it was either to keep that or "Before the Goodbye," and sadly i went with BTG. Damn!

I'm surprised you didn't guess She'll Never Be Me though.

Anyway, when are you going to start on The Zone? It's a whole different world!

Ooh, sounds pretty tempting. I think I'll be kicking it off with "Don't Hang Up" a little later this morning (kind of busy around here, sorry)!

Don't Hang Up

With one step into The Britney Zone (sounds like a ride at Disneyworld!), I'm first faced with a plea from the woman not to hang up on her phone conversation. I don't understand why she wouldn't want to get off the phone and back to her video game, for it sounds like she has an Atari in the background and she's playing Vanguard or Space Invaders.

I couldn't make out too many of the lyrics (a BAD thing for a phone conversation, I might add!), but I like the somewhat soothing harmony and the video game sounds. It reminded me of the good old days when I got my first Activision. In fact, I'm turning it up on my player here at work for a while because I want people to think I'm playing a video game where I'm chasing this sexy woman who "wants to feel me" throughout outer space.

Wow, 8/10! An impressive first review. Maybe In The Zone will be a little more to your taste.

Don't Hang Up is a nice enough song. Personally, I find it to be a little too dull to make the high ratings. For me, a song either has to mean something to me lyrically, or be something you can have a damned good dance to. Or both. Both is better!

The phone's still off the hook, by the way. Tell her I haven't hung up yet.

Oh, I don't think you get the show over there, but I saw this morning on television that Britney was going to be on Good Morning America next Tuesday morning. Maybe you could stream the video.

Outrageous

Don't really care for the unoriginal beat...how do songs like this get released and the good ones barely even make the album?

In this episode, Britney is outrageous when:
1) She moves her body
2) She's at a party
3) She's wearing her sexy jeans
4) She's on the scene

...none of which she's doing in her video. So I guess it's not very Outrageous.

With Britney playing hardcore basketball with some street ballers while Snoop Doggy Dogg of all people is hanging out during it all...that's outrageous enough for me!
