I wouldn't force him. But I would talk to him about it. I think it should be his right.

IMO, if you want to be called "free" then you should be allowed to put anything in your body, provided you don't hurt anyone else. The worst drug in the UK is Alcohol, and that's LEGAL! shock And so should all the others.
I see the xyz knows his Bullshit!

If that was true then we wouldn't need to have laws in the first place. The fact of the matter is laws do change problems for the better or worse, very much so even. Well, it would probably lower the smuggling of drugs for one.My opinion is that every drug should be legalized. You should have the possibility to put whatever the **** you want in your body. Sure some restrictions need to be applied (just as with cigarettes and alcohol). f what kind they are (banning of driving while high, drug centres, etc.) needs to be discussed.
And you could tax drugs, that'S a nice thing too.
Sure make a pro and con list and weigh the values, as a society in general the cons are already substantially greater and I don't see the weight shifting significantly to the pro side should they become legal.

What?
Let me look at that for a second.
Legal drugs:
Freedom, crimes
Illegal drugs:
crimes
Hmm, seems really, really clear to me.
Now taking into account that the crimes would probably decrease as well and would not significantly increase the harm done to society. Well...drugs just have to be legal. Only reason I can see against it is if one fancies fascism....a lot...

Sorry, but then you aren't much of a friend. You should recognise the agony he is about to face and should prevent it despite what he wants.
Ever talked to a heroine addict? They make zombies look like athletes and geniuses.

Do you really think the law is going to change peoples fears and oppinions?

You didn't really give reasons, why crime would not decrease though.
Because I don't think crimes would decrease on a whole. Of course drug trafficking and selling would but violent crimes, traffic crimes etc more then likely would increase.
Not to mention people cry about healthcare and costs regardless of the country and legalising drugs could put a HUGE extra burden on an already taxed system in place.
Hense a reasonable exchange of freedoms for more social protection.

No, you just don't approve of taking heroin, that'S okay, you don't have to take them. But if someone wants to take them, why should I stop them?
Drug addictions cause people to malfunction, causes them to loose their jobs, causes them to favor the drug above thier friends and family, causes them to resort to crime themself to be able to afford the drugs as they lost their jobs. And causes them to eventually die young, poor, alone and terribily miserable.
Sure you would just let that happen to a loved one, because he has free will to do so?
