I say they are miles away from being the greatest band ever, and like it or loathe it, you cannot prove me wrong, just like I cannot prove your opinion wrong. "Greatest" is opinion.

They do not hold anything for "greatest" with any officiality or factuality, it is entirely opinion. You have no choice but to agree unless you can once again factually prove it, and you'd be the first.

Hard to say, but I lean slightly towards no (he did not do better). His greatest achievement "Imagine" was done post Beatles, whatever that's worth.

Personally I think this band are overated. If Imagine had been writtein by anyone else it would have been dismissed as cheesy, but because it was Lennon it gained this Godly like status. The Beatles are just another band...FACT.
