I am partially with dadudemon (Partially, because I didn't read his whole post and I have no idea what else we would agree on).Tobi explicitly notes he saved her from the exploding tags, and Konan explicitly notes that that was intended as a suicide attack.
Ahhh...I see. So even in paper form, she can be killed. I guess I didn't read into it that hard. Good catch y'all. It's still a pretty decent defense barring someone like Tobi or a master fire/oil user.

Well, for one thing, Q99 has never been right about anything Naruto-related.
The Plague is the Plague. He's being contrary for the lulz.
Nemebro's impotent, and you have a Wolverine signature.
The only valid conclusion here is that everyone within this thread is wrong except for me.

That's one hell of an assumption from a guy who's post was merely "both parties are wrong". lol
I really would like for Kishi to snap back to the Madara/Kage fight or B/Naruto vs. Tobi/bijuus fight at this point. I can't believe 5 Kage can't handle Madara, and would like to see them redeem themselves. Plus, Naruto is my favorite character and I want to see him destroy Tobi like his dad did. Without the self-sacrifice of course.

Really? I thought he said it could last forever. Also, when did the tech start? I think when Kabuto stepped on the feathers is a pretty good estimation as someone posted. Is that the consensus?I see your point. Does that also mean he can still use techs that require both eyes?
Meh, I assumed it had a time limit, seeing as Izanagi has one. Not confirmed though, now that I look back at the fight.
As far as I can tell, Itachi started recording here, which is why Itachi's left eye is shown in a panel (seemingly minor detail was a nice bit of foreshadowing, much like this page with the cut off horn). He was done recording by this point. As far as trapping Kabuto goes, the only points he could have done it are here, here, or here.
We'll have to wait until the next chapter to see.

That's the problem, i think all we have to go off of is Itachi's word. It was stated that Izanagi only lasts a minute. Also, I like the multiple examples given as they all seem plausible. didn't it always start the loop after itachi gets stabbed? I think that was the start, just to fool Kabuto the first or second time around.

Konan takes out her targets, *then* forms a head. Somewhat notable as it implies Konan conducted combat without forming any body.
We have no idea how she started her assault as we do not see what she does when she approaches them. You are baselessly speculating and as I show, later, you are actually contradicted in some locations.

We see that her paper is clearly eaten by the bugs on the previous page:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v46/c427/13.html
And as we know, even being partially formed in paper makes her tangible.
Also, the Aburame clan seemed to get out of their fight with her, literally unscathed. 😐 Is she really as good as you said she was now that you know that?
Granted, she also survived her encounter with the Aburame. That's amazing, I'll give you that. 🙂
However....wait....
She's too scared to fight them because just a little bit later, she's in the woods.
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v46/c429/7.html
She retreated from the Aburame! haermm
Let's pretend it was a shadow paper clone so she can keep a bit more dignity.
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v46/c430/13.html
(we can't know which was the clone and which was not: the one in the town, or the one outside...or both...or none?
They still defeated it or stayed alive long enough to experience the shinra tensei. 🙂 That tells me, clearly, that decent chunin fighters are enough of a challenge for her unique abilities.

At the start of the fight Konan activates it.
So, let's be clear, here: she defects from "Tobi", Tobi confronts her, and she doesn't go paper-mode until well into the confrontation? It looks like you're ignoring the fact that she was solid well before she intiated her attack.
So will you admit that she is not in the form, constantly and is like a Logia User?
So why even debate that point?
Originally posted by Q99 http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v54/c509/3.htmlUsing paper for offense, Konan no longer has a full arm on the next page.
This does not really help your point because she goes into a cloud of paper a bit later when she tries to suicide bomb Tobi.

I assume you meant "While Konan believes Tobi to be in the chasm..."
She is still partially formed and, therefore, susceptible to attack.
Originally posted by Q99 http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v54/c510/7.htmlKonan believes the fight over. There's a missing paper slot in her arm and lines on her face, then it goes back and the flower, identical to the one that formed when she turned into butterflies, falls apart. The lines on her face that are consistently there when in paper mode are gone.
Possibly simply due to thinking the battle's over, Konan has deactivated it. Signs of activation have vanished.
I agree, here.
However, the point you're leading up to doesn't really prove the point you're trying to make as I have shown and you have shown her to be tangible and kill-able even if she is partially formed. That's all it takes is a partial formation of her body.
Originally posted by Q99 Throughout the entire Jiraiya fight, the Invasion battle, and the Tobi fight while he was trapped in the chasm, Konan had it consistently activated and would regularly go around with missing limbs, torso, or in fact even missing a vaguely human body shape.
That's not true. She did not have it activated at the beginning of the confrontation with Tobi. She was also quite tangible with Jiraiya thus proving that her partial paper form is susceptible. It would obviously take a bit of chakra to stay in full paper cloud form or else she would just stay in that form in all of her fights (makes sense since she's not like A or Naruto when it comes to chakra).
Originally posted by Q99 Also, for fun, here's Konan forming a giant tree hundreds of feet tall:It was active throughout the entire invasion arc.
and it's deactivation:
Okay, so your point is???
Here, I'll help you with your point:
You think that she is actively maintaining that but she's not. It's just a construct. She just replicated them. Much the same way that earth, when moved, stays in the same spot, so does the paper. She did that with the lake paper, and it is with the tree. What she has the ability to do is manip her own paper, however. That's the amazing part.
Seems the paper sticks to itself, too:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c443/16.html
Also, Konan seems to think Naruto can kill Nagato, even with her there:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c444/2.html
Also, Naruto thinks he can kill Nagato, too:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c448/2.html
Seems like Konan is a non-contender.
Also, the paper tree is not necessarily controlled by Konan.
As soon as Nagato dies, the tree falls apart:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c449/12.html
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c449/13.html
We have just as much reason to believe it was Nagato as Konan that took apart the tree, at this point. 😐
Lastly:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v48/c449/16.html
Looks like some things Konan creates don't just vanish when she runs out of chakra or she goes away form it (or are you going to conclude that she has to actively hold those flowers together that she created for Naruto?).
