Yea, but it has a lot of foreshadowing too.
Izanami is not an out-of-nowhere technique.
The idea of using genjutsu to put someone on a loop doesn't seem crazy to me either. If anything, it's much less dangerous than tsukiyomi.
Not really. Izanami was never alluded to once in the manga before Itachi just says "I has Izanami lol." That would be foreshadowing. The case with Izanami is that it is a technique that Itachi just suddenly has. It had certain build up as to what it would do but its existence was never hinted at.
Nah, it's not a crazy technique by any means really. It's just poorly placed in the story.

Kind of like these new OP Quincy powers, am I right? haermm2
But, yes, I agree with you about Izanami and Final GT. Final GT was definitely not an *sspull power and it took ages to finalize/complete. Spanned many chapters, etc.
Izanami was not really an *sspull power that just pops out of nowhere and is used in the same chapter...unlike some Quincy powers...However, Izanami is cutting it close.
*No hope of defeating Kabuto...SO *SSPULL SOME POWAH FTW!*
Also, I want to base my ninja rating system off of the idea that the next "up" can defeat or stalemate 2 from the next lowest. Any two, to be exact.
That would bump up Konan, imo. Then that makes a system that we all could agree.
For instance, I think Gai could defeat many A+ opponents in a 2 v 1 match. He may pull off victories against some S- pairs...S is when it gets tricky. S to S+ is where Gai belongs.
Minato can defeat or stalemate two S+ characters at once. Easy SS- for him.
Argue with me, convince me, deter, etc. I'm open.

Nah, Izanami was an asspull. And a very bad one if it can make FGT look bad.
I don't think it is as much of an *sspull as most of the new Quincy powers, though. It took multiple chapters to finalize/complete izanami. It's not that bad, I don't think.
BUT WHY DOES ITACHI ONLY KNOW ABOUT IT??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠

I hate to do this because I think it is also poor writing...but...
Why would Itachi threaten anyone with Izanami? It gets ride of the vision in that eye and with it, the specific eye techniques for that particular eye.
Well I mean, that Tobi guy was pretty evil. Use Izanami on him and then slit his throat while he is trying to figure things out.
Or Danzo. He is clearly a mutinous ****wad that is going to screw everything up in Konoha. Kill him.
Or hell, just use Izanami on Sasuke and let the only way for him to get out be for him to truly give up on his revenge. Izanami seems to be designed to be something that scolds people and if it costs an eye it should be really effective.
But that's just me.

Hm, interesting.
I don't know if it works with the ninja ranking system I use, though. That's not really the case between a mid-chunin and a high chunin, for example.
Have you considered doing the ranking with different designations on the level?
You know, I was thinking that maybe Izanami wouldn't be so bad if Sasuke was the one that got it. Considering how EMS is supposed to give him a new tech, Izanami would've been perfect especially if it could be spammed.
That it's! As Daudemon stated, the problem is Itachi being the one that know about Izanami and by extension the only one that can use it.
So....this chapter bring up yet another question; was there any point in bringing Sasuke along in this fight? Cause currently, I can count the number of times Sasuke did something useful against Kabuto on one hand....with fingers missing 😐.

Other than the fact that Kishi kept using multiple Shinto gods as names for Uchiha related techs?
Its existence was hinted at 100+ chapters ago when Sasuke brought out Kagutsuchi and Danzou used Izanagi. Its effects on the other hand weren't hinted at until now, and so it came off as a Deus Ex Machina.

He did save Itachi's ass twice, and he's currently being Talk no Jutsu'd by Itachi.

Doesn't really matter to me. He could have named this technique Jesus Christ. "Whoever said it was just Shinto Gods!?"
Man, how cool would it have been if they had figured out a way to beat him without that?
Also, I miss evil Sasuke. He was far more entertaining then this guy. This...this is Sasugay. ):

Shinto god names being used for high level Uchiha techs has been a recurring theme since midway through Part 1 or the Part 2 Sasuke-Itachi battle, depending on how you look at it; it matters.
But then we wouldn't get Kabuto being a good boy/accepting who he is.
Roid-raging Sasuke was a douchebag. Insane Sasuke on the other hand, I liked. Carnage and smirking and all that.
