Not exactly. Danzou used Izanagi in battle for some time before Tobi revealed to us what it was. Not a lot of foreshadowing, but more than Izanami had.

Still, Izanagi and Izanami did have some more foreshadowing. Kagutsuchi was introduced around 20 chapters before Izanagi, and Kagutsuchi is tied to both Izanagi and Izanami in Shinto Myth. It's a recurring theme of Kishi's, using Shinto gods for Uchiha techs.

Minato is clearly the bastard son of Tobirama Senju. However, Minato being the weak-sauce douche he is, knew he couldn't keep the name of Senju. So he changed it to the made up Namikaze, and this had the bonus of others not knowing that he committed WINcest with his cousin, Kushina.

Here's the catch: Up until that point, we had barely seen Danzo fight. Itachi? He has been in the manga for the longest time. Know why I didn't care when Itachi used Susano'o? Because usually I allow everyone to get away with the whole having one secret ace in the hole.

This just seemed stupid.

I heard someone claim that there was a better translation that clarifies that Uchiha were in fact using additional eyes for Izanagi.

I'm trying to get confirmation.

Or he was so kick ass, that he didn't need some lame ass family blood line to be the greatest ninja eva. Plus, he clearly would have made his siblings look bad considering how much better he is than Tsunade.

Itachi has had several though. Susano, Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, etc. In fact, most of the BA Uchiha techs have been shown through him. He was lauded as a genius above almost all other Uchihas so the fact that he can make new jutsus is not that big of a leap.

If Kishi wanted to introduce a new technique, why not use Sasuke's brand new eyes that come complete with a new technique?

Izanami doesn't make the Uchiha or Itachi look badass. Izanami makes it look like the plot is just willing to create stuff whenever they need it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree with you. They could have just as easily had Sasuke and Itachi fight to their capabilities instead of laming out to Kabuto to make him look better. The problem is though, with Uchihas, this always happens. They always have some BS move that they spam for weak victories. I like Itachi as a character, but I truly dislike the sharingan.

Danzo tinkers with reality in order to win a fight.

So does Izanami trump Kotoamatsukami? Because the cost is higher, ten years of an inability to use the jutsu versus permanently losing the eye.

On top of that the kotoamatsukami were the progenitor of the deities -- kami -- in Shinto. You won't get higher up than that in the hierarchy of power in the Shinto mythology.

I agree with your point.

And I think that the Eternal Tsukuyomi is a World-Wide Kotoamatsukami based on how it is described.

No point, just a question. Granted they function differently, but which would be considered the better genjutsu overall?

You do realize that, aside from perhaps Kakashi, Sasuke is the biggest Worf in the show right?

It's essentially a character used by the author to make a new character look good. For example, when Sasuke fought Bee he got absolutely wrecked twice. This showed Bee was very strong.

I guess, however he has had some ridiculous victories as well. Deidara, Danzou, Oro, and Itachi. The only one I was really impressed with at all was the Deidara fight. Itachi should have destroyed him. Oro would have killed him if he had been healthy. Danzou's over confidence let him be defeated by a simple genjutsu. Other than Bee, who has made look good that shouldn't already been considered good? Bee is a jinchurikii, so he should be viewed as good. A is a hokage, again it should be assumed he is good.

I wish they would snap back to the Madara fight already. That fight was getting pretty good. I want to see how the kage handle him. They have to have some better jutsus then what they have shhown outside of Gaara and Onoki who have been impressive. I wonder if A can use black lightning techs or maybe Mei using some better lava techs.

Only for being an eight tailed is be auto-viewed as good. Higher tier characters are the same as 4-6 tails.

For all of Sasuke's worth and upgrades he sure is getting an easy run so far.

How so? Only a couple of people have been stated to be able to handle a bijuu solo. And most of them have some special tool or blood line that helps greatly such as all Uchihas (Sharingan control), and Hashirama ( bloodline and pendant). I believe only the third has handled a full on bijuu and survived. Minato might have been able to pull it off barring family problems. Kisame was noted to be able to I think. But still that is a select few.

Oro could compete with 4 tailed Naruto and Pain could sorta face 6 tailed Naruto. And how Akatsuki members could take down 1-7 tails, one on one iirc.
