He'd still get crushed.

Oro < Itachi < Jiraiya < Oro.... Explain.

Fixed.

You guys think Jaraiya is better than Oro? Oro put up a good fight against him (and Tsunade) even without the use of his arms and without using his snake techniques to regenerate and stuff.

Better than or equal to. I lean more towards the latter really but databook gives Jiraiya the edge(also says he's tied with Itachi but I dun agree).

it's mostly Sage Mode that makes the difference. Though I'd rate Orochimaru over Jiraiya if we knew what the hell Yamata no Jutsu did.

Screw the databook.

Yeah, with sage mode he's better, otherwise we have a armless Oro matching Jiraiya and Tsunade together.

So how is Itachi below normal Jiraiya?

It's full of crap, specifically the bit where Jiraiya > Itachi.

Going by character statements and on-panel battles:
Tsunade < Orochimaru < Itachi < Jiraiya < Orochimaru < Pain < Jiraiya with knowledge of Pain's Paths < Sage Mode Naruto < Half-blind MS Sasuke < MS Sasuke < Bee < Kisame < Itachi...

Jiraiya has Sage Mode to equal or tip the scales in his favour in most people's opinions. Otherwise, he's rather inferior to Orochimaru.

You should read the OP in this thread. Notwithstanding the fact that the stats in the Databook are full of crap, using stat totals to judge a ninja's overall battle strength is piss poor.

Interesting....

Granted, I do not appreciate the Hiruzen being called the strongest ninja to date, mostly cause it's lolwrong.

Please...Jiraiya owns Oro. Jiraiya has sage mode that puts his strength , speed, and taijutsu above Oro. He has way better offensive techs. The toad binding stomach, swamp/quicksand jutsu, collab techs, multiple BA summons (I know Oro can summon several snakes but the only one I remember being strong on the level of Gamabunta was Manda). Jiraiya has Gam, Ma & Pa, and the samarai toad. And all of them except Samurai have long range techs. Ma and Pa can use genjutsu. Oro loses if they go all out imo

Ignore PIS and notice that he defeated the first and second and went toe-to-toe with them and he is not a faulty conclusion.

And died. And they were not impressive when they were shown.

Wasn't Oro fighting on level grounds with Hiruzen before the summons?

I don't believe he is the strongest, but pretty close is not a stretch. he did handle 2 kages solo. Sure they weren't 100 percent, but the feat is still quite remarkable. The guy knew a ridiculous amount of jutsu and in that regard, probably had a great defense for what most ninjas could dish out. not too mentioned it was stated that he was one of the best

How so? Most ninjas are not overcoming what the two kages were doing.

I remember a little taijutsu exchange. Obviously Hiruzen's age helped Oro considerably. Plus, Oro is no chump.

Most ninja do the same thing Tobirama is noted for doing lol.

Hashirama doesn't have a bad feat but it's nothing really special for the time either.

I thought I told you to ignore PIS? 😠

Again they were confined, in a barrier, on a rooftop if I remember correctly. I'm sure everyone involved had the power to increase their attacks but breaking the barrier would have been a big no-no for Oro. It was impressive for the circumstances.

Well I mean, if I ignore that then that means Sasuke>Itachi for quite a while. 313

Not really. That line of reasoning also seems to suggest that Hiruzen lacks the power to break the barrier while the others don't, which still leads to him being weaker. Granted, that's assuming the barrier is breakable.
