Danzo isn't noble. He's just stupid. Shisui's eye was the perfect solution to the problem. There's no reason to have used it.

Define needed in this case. This chapter benefits the audience by giving the details concerning an event from the past. Like, say, when we found out the details of the Kyuubi attack on Konoha. Compared to that, at least this was short.

That and this gives Sasuke a springboard to develop more as a character. And makes Itachi more sympathetic.

true that, TheAuraAngel. this was actually quite an insightful chapter considering it was a short flashback. though with Kabuto still alive, the mood of this chapter could probably be thrown out the window if he breaks out of Izanami anytime soon.

Well, it's got limits. It can only be used once.

Heh, I just had a funny though- what if the real reason he didn't have it available to use, before Danzo stole it, was he had used it on Itachi to make him move to Konoha's side?

So...couldn't Shisui have used his eye on Danzo then? That would've solved a crap-ton of future problems.

But there is also this possibility too.

So what I got out of this chapter was that Itachi didn't know Danzo wanted dem eyeballs.

But wouldn't talking solve everything? Works most of the time in Naruto anyway so why would this be different.

The Sharingan can see through Talk no Jutsu.

I doubt Madara will come back. He would've won the battle if it wasn't for Itachi's interference. There's no reason to bring him back at this point even though it was a dissatisfying ending making the current generation of kage seem like incompetent children.
