Most clans don't seem to get specific roles, the Uchiha probably did because they're one of THE two big clans, along with the Senju. With the Hyuga, you just spread them out among various important units so they can put those eyes to good effect.

Who didn't take out a bunch of sound/sand ninjas. lol The parent ino/shika/cho trio took out more iirc and they aren't considered top faimlies.

I think he took out the most on page, and even more than the trio combined. He was only shown for a brief moment, but took out 21 in that time (count the impact points and falling ninja!).

And I think the trio's clans are considered fairly major too. Maybe not quite as much battle wise, but they're in significant positions.
