if madara is supposed to be has broken and hacks as people seem to think he is then why is he afraid to just take out naruto and kakashi right now? with zetsu playing interference he should be able to solo either one of them. only reason why hes "retreating" at all is because he thinks he cant beat both of them...

kisame hid within samahada, that's how he survived.not sure how kishi is going to explain how zetsu was able to use kisame's techs (if they are his, zetsu is prone to using leech seed techs so you never know) and samahada is kisame's alone, and this is the real samahada not a nagato clone it's the original since it's actually in lightning country with kisame within it.
maybe since kisame was in it, he could control it to act like the zetsu clone was it's master... hmm

Madara pretty much has to be third, doesn't he? Kisame knew him personally after all.
At a guess, I'd say Zabuza's attempted coup was against Mei. A jinchuuriki with mastered biju sounds a bit hard to take on, but after Yagura fell, Mei'd be pretty new at the job back before the series and he might've thought a rookie Mizukage would've been manageable to assassasinate, only to discover she was more dangerous than he thought and he was sent packing.
Hm, I wonder who he intended to buy to help his coup. I suppose the Akatsuki would be the logical choice.

4-5 years would be the timeframe if she got installed right before the series start. Which is I guess a bit on the long side, but likely a lot less than Tsuchikage and Raikage, and would give her time to have reforms that sink in.

Zabuza would have to know the power of the Swordsmen. He couldn't go out and hire just normal thugs. And since he needed a lot of money and would do anything even if he agreed or not. Yea Akatsuki has to be the answer. Then again ALL of this probably wasn't thought of during the time Zabuza was created so. Mizukage was probably just some guy in Kishi's head, and a band of assassins would probably have been who Zabuza wanted. And now that he had to flesh out the Mist and Akatsuki more he probably doesn't even realize what he did.

Yagura would have still had the Demon in him. And probably full control of it. But still it's probably just Kishimoto forgetting the first arc of the series more likely.
