😑 And talking about Uzumaki just made me realize.....EVERYBODY in Konoha had to know Naruto was the Fourth's son.....So I was definitely wrong.

Also note, Killerbee said that if the Kyuubi broke free during the mental training, the room had been designed by the cloud to be able to contain it, meaning that there are means of sealing the kyuubi besides jinchiruki.

you mean like a magic pot??

Something like that.

It strikes me things must've really sucked before the villages if "everyone has to take care of a biju" was considered a big step up.

Better than "Konoha has them all, and you have none".

I wonder if before they handed them out there was rumblings of a big anti-Konoha alliance or something. Even with all the biju and both super clans, that could be a major problem.

And I was thinking even before that, before Hashirama unified the Konohagakure clans and everyone was running around separately.

I'm sure the only reason Hashirama distributed them was because the other nations were prepared to take them by force and destroy Honoha in the process. On top of that, he could have been scared that the Uchiha would break off and join such an alliance again (they didn't want war, sure, but just because they said that doesn't mean Hashirama would believe there wasn't a possibility.)

I wonder if this was all done in one go. "I have these biju, and these clan alliances, and want peace. I'll give biju to any alliance of clans big enough that agrees to sign this treaty." Or if it was in stages, "I have these biju and the strength of the Uchiha/Senju alliance, and will form this village on that. Hm... these other clans are forming villages to oppose us. That could trigger a great war. Perhaps I could stabilize things with a deal... even with less biju, the Uchiha/Senju are the tops, and we'll keep the strongest for ourselves."

I also wonder if Waterfall used to be bigger, hence their getting a biju. Perhaps a 6th great village that ended up in a bad spot way back in the first war or couldn't attract quite as many clans as the others during the founding.

Something that also puzzled me is that some of the other nations were given multiple biju, while Konoha itself only kept one. I can't imagine that being a sound decision, even with it being the strongest.

Hm, I wonder if perhaps they had more to begin with only to be lost in war or if some of the others went to minor villages that got absorbed, I.e. a different village had 2-tail and then Cloud ate it, ditto Mist and Stone with the ones they snagged (thus making the logical counter for Leaf to snag 7-tails from Waterfall. Hm... I wonder if Waterfall's closely allied to Leaf).

Or if it's just that the biju were so much more unreliable for others that it was felt two were needed to maintain some equilibrium.

Cloud could barely use hachibi before Killerbee came along after all, only the low-tails seemed reliable for those without excellent hosts (probably why Sand went for 1-tails, it seems easiest to handle of all, plus it's abilities being so suited to the desert), and the lower tails don't generally seem much of a deterrent against Senju-and-Uzumaki controlled 9 on it's own. Between two biju you might have one fully effective one at a time on average.

That also may be one of the Cloud's specialties, while not being Konoha's though.

Well, you do bring up a good point.

Like I sepculated on, earlier: the Kyuubi seems to be significantly more powerful than any other Bijuu. 8-Tails is the second most powerful, by "feats". I just assume that each beast, down to 0, is weaker than the one higher.

Since the Kyuubi has better feats, significantly, while having it's power "halved", which each "tail" adding significant amounts of power, and it was only 8-tails, that tells me that the Kyuubi 9 tails, halved, is absurdly powerful...significantly above the 8-tails.

For me, that seals the deal that the Kyuubi is at least twice as powerful as any other Bijuu. It's better than having 2 bijuu because that's a "at least" measure.

If my idea that the Kyuubi is as powerful as the other 8, combined, then that more than seals the deal.

If the Kyuubi's power comprises half of the Juubi's power, then the Juubi is nowhere near as great a threat as it would seem. 😐

I have not been impressed with the Kyuubi at all.

Right, cause a beast that could create a Tsunami with just a swipe of it's arm is DEFINITELY not something anyone should fear. 😐

Wait wait wait...another one...

Cause a beast, with one energy blast, that could destroy an entire village of the world's most power Ninja, is not something anyone should fear. 😐

Good one.

😐

Guess what? Without Minato, Konoha would have been destroyed. Luckily for Konoha, Minato was around to TSJ that sh*t right outta dair.

to create a balance of power

after the war the warring countries divided up the bijuu and handed them out accordingly, i assume the lightning country was weak at the time cause they got two of them. (kumo obviously kept to themselves and disregarded the arms proliferation ban)

I suppose, but this seems unlikely given Konoha has historically been the top in both sealing and biju control.

To be fair, we've yet to see it do that.

To be fair, all of those people could also be killed with kunais to the face.

Pain was able to destroy Konoha, and he's just a human.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it is. 9 Tailed Beast > 8 Tailed Beast > 7 Tailed Beast....> 1 Tailed Beast.

The 8-Tailed version of half-powered Kyuubi doesn't have any feats, apart from breaking out of something that held the 6 tailed version.
Hachibi still has the better menacing ball feat between itself & the half-powered Kyuubi. The full powered Kyuubi would have decimated the entirety of Konoha with its Menacing Ball, but that is moot as it was the full powered Kyuubi. Hachibi destroyed a large portion of the area it was in, which is better than anything we've seen from the half-powered Kyuubi so far.

1. Because we have seen it cause SO many tsunamis, amirite?

2. That puts him on the same level as Pain. Who was then able to destroy an area that appeared even greater than the giant Shinra Tensei with Chibaku Tensei. I am not saying it is weak. I am saying it is signifigantly less powerful than originally hyped, and if it is the bulk of the Juubi's power then the Juubi was VASTLY overhyped.

Funny, Sarutobi and friends seemed to be doing a pretty good job of holding it back.

When Minato came he all but stomped it.
