Bullshit. I don't mean to be rude to you, but from what we've seen so far, there is no way that the total power of 8 beasts is exponentially smaller than a beast with one tail more than the 8th beast. Hell, the combined chakra capacity and power of the Hachibi and Nanabi (7 tails) is likely greater than the Kyuubi's.

Also, the Sage created the f***ing moon, and shot it into space while he was nearly dead. Nothing has demonstrated that sort of power in the Naruto-verse as of yet.

True enough. Hachibi demolished a very large portion of the valley it was in, which puts it above half-powered Kyuubi, as the latter has no feats at its strongest - 9 tails.

IMO, while 9 tails at full power is the most powerful of the tailed beasts by virtue of # of tails and power-scaling, we don't know just how much of a gap there is between it and the others.
Honestly, to me, there is no way that the combined power/chakra of 8 Tails...1 Tail is smaller than that of the 9 Tails.

Otherwise, all the Ninja alliance would have to do in the war, is to rip the Kyuubi out of Naruto (he should survive it), set it loose on Akatsuki & the other 7 beasts, and let it do all the work while they GTFO. Then they could come back and seal it up in a pot or something. Hell, Konoha would do that to Akatsuki. There's no need for an alliance, as the other countries could simply just tell Konoha to take care of it by using the Kyuubi.

Sorry for the tl:dr. >__>

The only problem with that Akatsuki point is: how will they unleash the beast when they don't know where the Akatsuki are? (Which has been a large portion of the problem.) On top of that, they definitely would not destroy all of those innocent lives just to get to the Akatsuki.

And I still think 4-tails has a better destruction feat.

Also, I think DP was right about the power-scaling: more tails equals more chakra:

http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/471/11/

So it may not be as powerful as all the others, but it's definitely more powerful than all the others, by virtue of tails.

We don't know, very well, how much power one tail adds, but it wouldn't be a stretch at all to say that the 9-tails, half power, is stronger than the 1, 2, and 3 tails put together. (That's a total of "6-tails" of power.) However, the 1, 2, 3, and 4 tails, put together, would be the power of "10-tails (but not the GREAT 10-tails...so don't confuse it for that)", so that would be one tail greater.

So I think I've made my point without being too illogical. I just went overboard with it.

Well, Kento brought up another problem that all but destroyed the Konoha/Alliance thing. 😛
Setting the Kyuubi free, and pointing it in the direction of Madara is a foolhardy decision, as he would just take control of it.

Also, I believe Kabuto led Anko and her team to the Akatsuki hideout. At least, it is one of their major hideouts, as we've seen Madara there twice at least.

IMO, (Included scans from two different sites as OM is closing next week)

The area the Hachibi destroyed is vastly larger than the one caused by the 4 tailed Kyuubi. 4 Tailed Kyuubi itself isn't very big (probably slightly bigger than a grizzly), while the Hachibi is likely over 100 metres tall.
This is how large the Hachibi's attack was. http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/414/07/ http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-7.html

Also, this is on a tangent, but Suigetsu had one hell of a durability feat there. He tanked attack that nearly destroyed the entire valley, albeit, he was knocked out.

😆 I dunno, I don't think Naruto could use them. He's not exactly know for using any moves that require great....seal knowledge.

I disagree.

I think the 4-tails Kyuubi destruction feat is larger than the 8-tails, in those "shots". We can't even see 4 tails Naruto in that shot (cause it's so large).

Also, where is the destruction? I don't see much of a difference on the landscape, from that shot. I've looked at scans of before and after and there is not much difference in the landscape...cept two smoking pillars.

Yea. Also, apparently no-one else managed to replicate FTG, and both Kakashi and Jiraiya would be worth teaching. Being an S-class jutsu, it's probably extremely hard to learn and requires exceptional specialty in the area.

It's pretty rare for S-class techniques to not be unique or near-unique to the user.

Rasengan/rasenshuriken fit Naruto pretty well, too.

True, it's large, but remember, the 4 tails Kyuubi is no bigger than a grizzly. Hell, it's probably smaller. http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/294/08/

Plus, there's smoke covering the crater in the second panel, and the angle doesn't reveal the entire circular crater in the middle panel.

Naruto's in the middle of the huge crater, as shown here:
http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-5.html
This means that the destruction shown in the middle panel of page 10/11 is limited to a small section of the crater + the parts where the area splits into two. We clearly see the end of the destroyed area as well.
Granted, the three Rashomon gates split it up, but we don't know how much of the force was absorbed.

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-9.html
The size of that blast does not even compare to the one created by the Hachibi. The Hachibi itself is likely the same size as the 4 tailed Kyuubi's blast, if not larger than it.

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-7.html
Whereas Hachibi's blast made the Hachibi look like a small bird. Not only that, but you can see a few steep hills around the Hachibi.

Yet here: http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-7.html
There's nothing but water and small strips of land around the Hachibi for a couple of miles.

Here's another shot of the valley http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-412-page-16.html
Killerbee transforms in the same vicinity, but they are at ground level when that happens. There's even one of those steep hills right in front of him. http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-1.html

The entire valley was littered with steep hills and land. Most of those were obliterated by the blast. Taka is standing on water once we see them again, whereas they were standing on land before the blast.

No, it means that the blast not only exceeded the crater, it was much bigger than the creater.

Remember, the crater that Naruto created JUST by powering up to four tails, is as big as if not bigger than the 8-tails destruction.

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-293-page-14.html

Look at how large that crater is that Naruto created. He's a spec and the Hachibi is quite large in his panel with Naruto obvioulsy having the MUCH larger and complete damage the the surrounding area...just by powering up.

Later, Naruto not only creates a blast LARGER than the crater her created, it makes the crater MUCH deeper and significantly larger.

Remember, the crater Naruto created is quite shallow.

Look here:

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-2.html

On this panel, alone, it shows us how truly large this crater is: look at how small Oro is in on shot and then in the next, how far away Oro travels...and then how small the 4-tails is compared to Oro.

Then look here, at how large these gates are:
http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-8.html

They totally eclipse everything around them. The trees are at least 100 feet tall (see previous panels showing the wood clone of Yamoto being in one tree) and those things tower over them like they are grass.

And then, here, we can quite clearly see that the blast is everybit as large, if not larger, than they Hachibi's:
http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-9.html

It's in this frame that we see how truly powerful the blast was:

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-11.html

Craters are deep.

The Gates were completely destroyed and Oro survived with his life barely intact.

Now, to put the Hachibi's blast into perspective, look how large the Hachibi is compared to a person.

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-415-page-3.html

We learn two things from that: the Hachibi is quite large.

We can clearly see how large the Hachibi's blast is supposed to be by looking at the crater around them + the image of the area after the blast.

Looks to be bigger than the one from Kyuubi 4-tails, but it's not by much. Also Naruto's blast was blocked, largely, by Oro's gates.

So I'm still going to go with the Kyuubi, half power, in four tails, being more powerful than the Hachibi, full power.

That lends itself to the idea that the Kyuubi is probably closer to being more powerful than most if not all of the previous 8 tailed beasts.

If just four tails is around the same strength as the 8-tails, half power, less than half he tails, then the 9-tails, full power, should be more powerful than the previous 8 put together.

The anime does a much better job of putting things into perspective, IMO, and the Hachibi DOES do quite a bit of damage, but we get to see how far the blast Naruto goes, when it split, and it appears to go on for miles.

Also, when Naruto powers up, we see Yamoto and Sakura getting blasted away just from the energy, and they are about half a mile or so away. That's just from powering up, alone.

Hachibi's looks a lot bigger to me.

This looks about the same size.

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-295-page-11.html

No, that still looks a lot smaller. That crater is big but the mountains Hachibi destroyed are almost the same size as that whole crater. And the mountains were tiny compared to the full blast.

I disagree:

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-412-page-16.html

Those mountains aren't nearly as big as the crater Naruto and Oro are in.

And, as fact, it doesn't look like more than 1 or two were destroyed in this shot:

http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-14.html

Also, the "damage" is so sporadic that we really don't know what is the cliff and what was destroyed.

We have to go to the anime to know that and we know that it wasn't very much bigger than the trenches Naruto created.

Edit - Well, it looks like we get to see exactly how big the Hachibi's crater is: there's a clear " circle" around the Hachibi. That's about the same size as Naruto's crater, if not smaller.

Double edit -
http://manga.animea.net/naruto-chapter-414-page-15.html

In fact, that scan shows, clearly, that the "cliffs" are part of the natural landscape because Team Hawk is right in the middle of it and they'd be dust if they were caught in the blast.

Suigetsu blocked the blast, protecting his team, did he not?

Or are you talking about something else?

Yeah, he did block the blast, but I don't see an area where they were protected, at all. There should be a fork, like Naruto's, no?

They should have been vaped, along with everything else, right?

I would like to see Kakashi get FTG. Even if I don't like Kakashi, FTG then Kamui would be even more epic than FTG then Rasengan.

Then again the only way FTG wouldn't be epic is if somebody used it then used Chidori or some variation of Chidori. 😗

FTG and then Kamui? My god, you want to make him pass out in seconds don't you? 😆

Couldn't really spam it either.

I wouldn't mind FTG with Chidori. It actually fits more with the name somewhat.

Well I doubt FTG takes up much chakra. And he can't spam Kamui anyway. But it would be an awesome, surprise your opponent type move. Kakashi would be having trouble with them or something, throws a kunai, they block it, he appears at Kunai, opponent is all shocked, then Kamui to oblivion. It would be a cool move to end a big one on one battle.

😆 That's just my not so subtle way of saying that Sasuke wouldn't be cool with FTG.

i'm going to just throw this out there:

8-tails = 8-tails

kyuubi grows the last tail and is thus the most powerful of the 9 when all are complete, aside from that it's not necessarily more powerful at the same tail # and minus/with a jinchuriki unless we get some official decree or some more concrete evidence (i.e. a lesser tailed creature defeating a more tailed one)

from what bee has been capable of doing with the hachibi inside him, he has far more abilities than naruto does. comparing their feats i'd take a version 2 bee over 8 tailed naruto due to what bee brings to the table (if their overall power is equal)

FTG doesn't take much chakra I think because a lot of the technique's power is in the form of seals.

Everyone understands that, the question is, how much stronger do you get with each new tail (is it enough to beat a team of biju with more tails in total, for instance)?

It would be cool I suppose, though poor Kakashi would eventually pass out one way or another. That's just how he rolls. If only he had Naruto's stamina. Or hell, Sasuke's stamina would be better than his own.

He'll get it though. Along with Sage Mode and Rasengan. 🙄

Bee using FTG?
