He'd probably still be alive, and not have trained Sasuke. Wonder why Kimi was the first person he went after with a KG.
He did talk about how Kimimaru's body was so hard to kill. Immortality was one of his major goals after all, if you live long enough you'll have plenty of time to learn all the jutsu.
Combining his regen with bones of steel would really put his physical defense to uber levels.
I wonder though. If he can only hold a body for 3 years...what is the point of wanting people like Kimi and Sasuke who would make much better men than hosts. When he keeps his power as he switched bodies, but needs time to recover after switching. Having Kimi and Sasuke and Kabuto watching over him when he's in weak state like that. He'd be hard to touch even when he's weakened.

I'm guessing part of the reason he had to switch so often was the strength of the bodies; if one that was really strong he might not need to switch as often or even at all, which strikes me as especially likely in a body as physically powerful as Kimimaru's who's power is based upon growing more of an internal part.
Also one difference I note is Kimimaru and Sasuke both were prepped with special Cursed Seals, while most of his hosts didn't have seals. Acclimating to the seal's effects means the body may be much more resistant to having him in them and won't result in rejection after a mere three years or so.

Originally posted by NephthysThat's cause Sasuke didn't want his body taken over and Oro is dumb around Uchiha. But it was just a ..what if thing. He would even have Sasuke if he hadn't wanted to take over his body anyway so Sasuke wouldn't be a henchman.
Except Sasuke would kill his ass when he was weakened. And did. Also I assume he just wanted moar powar!

What-if scenario: Suppose Kimimaro recovered and Orochimaru was able to use him as a host right after the Konoha invasion.
To be honest, likely the same thing occurs in Part 1. Even if he got Kimimaro's body, he'd still also want the sharingan. He might go after Sasuke personally this time though instead of sending the Sound 4. If he sent them, they would have likely failed and Konoha would have recaptured Sasuke.

One can always implant the sharingan though. Kimi's body + Kakashi/Danzo style implants may be overall better than an Uchiha body.
Oro might've still sent the Sound 4... but where Kimi showed up as reinforcements, Orochimaru could show up in person instead, not being sick.

I have a question about Madara getting the rinnegan. To start, how can Nagato's eyes still work even though he's been dead for at least a week or two?
They don't seem to have started rotting yet. Perhaps any damage done since death is minor enough to not matter for the way eye transfers work.
P.S: At least we knew Orochimaru was no good; I'm not sure if Madara even knows what he wants at this point.
I dunno, he seems pretty clear on the world domination thing.

I assumed he could just keep Kimi's KG even when he switched to another body. Besides, he'd have to switch bodies eventually, and having another with sharingan prepared well in advanced would help considerably.
If Orochimaru showed up in person, Naruto would have been screwed. But I thought he would have to wait a while before he could start fighting again. I remember him having bandages and such on his body after he did the switch before Sasuke showed up.

If he had Kimimaru's body, he would've switched first before even going after Tsunade probably (hm, odd side effect: Tsunade may or may not become Kage this path, convincing her would at least go differently), and be recovering sooner. Also, he wouldn't necessarily have gone for retrieval right then.
