If only because he has a cool name. Madara. Yeah.

Well at least Madara doesn't like small boys so that's something he has over Oro. lol

vin...no seriously. He wants to sync Sasuke with the Statue of the Outer Path.

Uchiha Hatred > Uchiha Love x Uzumaki Love

The bodies that last 3 years are those of generic ninja, which could not contain someone as powerful as Orochimaru. Orochimaru wanted to train Sasuke so that his body would be powerful enough to handle Orochimaru's essence. Orochimaru would have the Sharingan for far longer than 3 years. Plus, he'd be in a 16 year old kid's body. POWAH! of Youth (Gai) + Vast repertoire of techniques (Hiruzen) + Sharingan (Sasuke) = HAX!

Never, Sasuke has enough hax, and Madara knows this.

Nah, Uchiha Love made Sasuke gain his MS, which is what helped him not completely die by Raikage. Uchiha Hatred got Oro inside Sasuke. 😉

Well he already had the power of youth against Saru and still almost lost. 😛 But that's not fair cause Sarutobi's were the Sage.

Sure, but there's a difference between hating a character because of how vile they are, and hating them because they make for a poor villain. Jagi and Amiba were both good villains, as was Orochimaru. But the parallels between the two are pretty strong.
Eh, I didn't think Jagi was a good villain. He was more fillerish to me than anything. Amiba pretty much did the same thing Jagi did, except was better at it, and copied the cooler brother.

Jagi was "filler" to the extent that you could say Zabuza was "filler". No, neither one was the big bad villain of the series, but they both had their own arcs that had significant content of their own.

Amiba, on the other hand, was pretty much filler, given that the real Toki still hadn't appeared even after he was gone. But his personality was extremely similar to Orochimaru's.

1. Both desired to learn all styles/jutsus extremely quickly.
2. Both kidnapped people for the purpose of discovering new jutsu/power points, at the cost of their lives.
3. Both became obsessed with a person who appeared and showed they were stronger than them (Toki and Itachi).
4. Both would constantly laugh and not take fights seriously, but would have a complete breakdown if put into a fight with someone stronger than them.
5. Both modified their bodies to disguise others.

It's probably coincidence but I wonder if Kishi might have had Amiba character in mind while creating Orochimaru.

*srhugs* To each their own. I find Jagi to be horrible in character, and point. And after his brief appearance he's not even shown when there is talk of the Hokuto Brothers. Though I only read the start of Jagi's story that was created, and only really know him from when he was trying to act as Ken, and then effortlessly gets destroyed.

Amiba I don't like just because I don't like him but yes I admit he was a good villain.

Manda could probably just strangle it before it started its vacuum suck.
Difference being that Orochimaru's main concern would not be to attack Konoha, but to find Sasuke. Given Manda's speed and burrowing ability, I find his chances of getting around Konoha without much trouble to be very high.

Even if they somehow managed to put him under genjutsu, it would likely be promptly broken by Kabuto, who would naturally be with Orochimaru.

Shisui's eye genjutsu is very strong and I doubt could be broken easily. Heck, it might work on Orochimaru or Kabuto.

And Danzo's vacuum blades are strong enough to hurt Manda too.

How did Mifune escape the genjutsu? Did Danzou stop it, or did someone break him out of it?
Regardless, it is still a genjutsu, and it could likely be broken if someone disrupts the chakra of the affect being. That's how Kirabi broke out of Sasuke's MS genjutsu, which is likely on the same 'level' as Shisui's.

Probably, but that's only if they hit him in the first place. Manda can shed his skin to negate damage apparently.

Danzo stopped it, since there was no point once it had been found out.

Maybe, but this was said to be the same jutsu that worked on Yagura, a fully-controlled host, and Danzo even thought it'd work on Madara, a MS user. It seems to me like it's the hardest to deal with genjutsu we've seen, even if tsukiyomi is directly stronger.

I think Danzo's fast enough to hit.

Because he had a team with him. He can usually only fight in a team or against someone who's already weakened. And also as usual, he almost dies in that fight like in most of his fights

He fought Deidara and Itachi solo.

He almost died because he picks tough foes, and he took Killerbee too lightly, especially after losing a lot of his powers from last fight and not yet getting into his new ones.

I wonder though. If he can only hold a body for 3 years...what is the point of wanting people like Kimi and Sasuke who would make much better men than hosts. When he keeps his power as he switched bodies, but needs time to recover after switching. Having Kimi and Sasuke and Kabuto watching over him when he's in weak state like that. He'd be hard to touch even when he's weakened.

Misconception: he can hold it longer. The minimum time he had to hold onto a body was 3 years, though. Discovered that in the little debate Q99 and I were having. The reason Oro's body was falling apart before he switched to that one masked due was because his "spirit" was cut off at the arms by the Shinigami. My only guess is that his spirit is exerting some kind of constant Jutsu on the body, similar to Tsunade's "anti-aging" jutsu. But, the specification in the manga was not "has to change every 3 years", it was "you have to wait for 3 years before you change again."

Q99, I think the "correct" ideas are somewhere between us. Oro was just using everyone around him but cared more for those around him that were useful from a mad-scientist perspective.

Ahh, good point. Though, to be fair, even if he was in full control over his beast, it could be that the beast was simply not intelligent enough to break him out.

Manda could still just shed his skin though. While he was fatally injured by Deidara's blast, the most visual damage he had was just burns. So I guess he's pretty durable in a manner of speaking.
Also, that Oil+Fire combo still hit Manda, but he was unharmed due to his skin shedding ability.

Itachi does fall under the 'weakened' portion. Though Deidara drives home the point. It is his most impressive fight in Part 2.

Don't see what the point is if he 'almost died'.
Deidara was beaten and he died. Itachi died (though the fight was rigged). Killerbee would have died had he not been resourceful (though the 'fight' had a lot of extenuating factors). Danzo died.

Clearly killermover believes that if a ninja died in a fight, they are above the person who almost died in the same fight.

True enough. However, the lag period typically coincides with the period of time his hosts have taken to reject his essence.

Personally, I doubt Orochimaru would have gone through the troubles he did just to get Sasuke's body for 3 years. IMO, the stronger the body, the longer he can stay in it.

It was 3 years when his body began to break down after the time skip. When he fought Naruto his body was beginning to break down, and why he was so weak when he was killed by Sasuke later on.

😛 Sasuke's hatred is nothing to Madara's hatred. So Sasuke will never be able to.

😄 But this is ITACHI'S Uchiha Love. It cancels Uzumaki's Love.

But he had Wood along with all those. And Wood > sharingan.

You're right. Forgot about that. So, yeah, it's not a misconecption, it's the truth.

The wording PS was that Oro had to wait 3 years before he could change, not "you have to change in 3 years", which was why I was being thrown off. My apologies.

Also, why would he Need Sasuke's body when he can take his eyes? Well, I know...he'd just take Sasuke's body, defeat Itachi, then take Itachi's eyes and have Kabuto implant them in "his" body, unlocking the EMS. Then, he can just implant those eyes into any of his subsequent bodies.

Also, Oro needs his props! Oro was said by Hiruzen to be more powerful than anyone in Konoha, at the time he was going to invade. No one stood a chance against him. Even the unknown jutsu from the 4th still wasn't enough to defeat Oro: Oro resisted!

Makes sense. A regular, but strong, Ninja should last 3 years. It makes perfect sense that Kimi's body would last him for many years to multiple decades due to the regenerative properties of the body. I can see why, now, Oro wanted Kimi's body so much: it was be useful for many many years.

Well it's kinda both. He can't change for three years, and at the very least his last body was dying by the third year. That body could just have been the exception though I guess. Or just weak.

Cause without Uchiha blood he can't turn it off and it drains a lot of energy. He'd have to walk around blindfolded all the time to conserve any energy.

That's cause Saru was already weak from doing two others, and dying by a blade in the back.

Well, since Oro got the 1st Hokage's "genes" to work with a kekkei genkai to make a wood element user mixed with someone else's blod (Yamamoto and Danzo), I don't see why he could master the kekkei genkai of the Uchiha. That was really my logic. Eyes seem to be easier to transfer than other kekkei genkai...so I just assumed Oro had already worked out a way to "master" the eyes.

That, or what you said in your first portion: it's a much stronger body and will last significantly longer than that no-name ninja.

Wasn't that Saru's shadow clones doing that? Technically, his shadow clones already took the chakra he was going to use to split amongst themselves, so they wouldn't have weight on him when they did the seal.

And, yeah, Hiruzan standing up to Oro should speak volumes of how powerful he is. Only a masterful sharinan user stands a chance against Oro. This is the conclusion I've come to.

Yea, I'm not sure why if he was so obsessed with Sharingan he didn't keep some. Obviously Danzo's only got 11 sharingan. There was a whole clan to steal from. Stealing two more wouldn't have been an issue. Though I wonder if Danzo keeps them covered to hide, or the same reason Kakashi has to.

Saru probably would've beaten Oro had Shodai and Nidai not been around though. His need for Death God was because of the immortal nature of those two. Seriously how many people could defeat Edo Tensei bodies in Naruto without that ability? Kakashi is about the only one I can think of. He's the only one with an ability to get rid of them without making himself vulnerable like Madara.
Though with Kabuto using it that ability is bound to get downgraded....

Maybe Orochimaru wanted a body that could actually substain a Sharingan w/o stamina and chakra drains. Although why he didn't get one for an EMS I don't know. Plus he might not have known about Izanagi so that could have affected his decision

Sarutobi would of beat eveyone were he a decade younger. I always though he used that seal because the 1st and 2nd were powerful opponents not because their bodies were immortal; that sound cool actually.

Didn't notice my freudian slip, eh? lol

I meant Yamato. hahahaha

And, to answer your question, he wanted a prodigy's eyes like Itachi or Sasuke's. I think it has a little something to do with genetics, know what I mean? Oro is obviously quite picky about that stuff. He's like a girl: "Ohhh, I don't want those eyeballs, they clash with my high heels. Besides, I don't have the cheek bones to sport that color. *wiggles a limp hand in an unrelated direction*" lol

Well, also...it could just be crappy writing.

Well, Oro didn't even show a little bit of his powers, IMO. He is probably the most "jutsu" knowing person in the manga, thus far. We saw awesome stuff from Oro, but I don't think we got to see even the tip of the iceberg from him.

Also, anyone with the abilities to create a large enough blast would completely destroy the bodies. Any bijuu blast should do.

When fighting Jiraiya, Pain did mention how all of the legendary three are like that, they have so many jutsu there's no way to be prepared for it all.

Well, even basic MS is Itachi and Madara only at that point, and he might not know all of it's secrets. I do suspect he knew Izanagi though- as he did Danzo's implants which included extra measures to make Izanagi better.

Also I think he might be more interested in the basic jutsu-copying power than he is the mangekyo super jutsu. Not that he wouldn't love amaterasu and tsukiyomi and all, just that his primary concern was learning shear number of jutsu to understand their secrets.

Wouldn't really need Izanagi. Danzo had one in his eye. That's all Oro wanted. The eyes to use. Though a new body plus eyes is always better deal I guess. Wonder if he could transplant Sasuke's eyes when he needed to switch bodies if he had done it.

How would he have gotten rid of them, and won? He blew them up, and they just reformed. Unless there is a limit to how many times they can do that. He knew it would be useless, and its not like he had great chakra reserves cause of his age.
Downgraded because, well all of Akatsuki in immortal bodies. They were hard enough without that. Now they can't be killed.

No, no I didn't. Cause I keep forgetting his name is Yamato not Yamamoto anyway. lol

Or it could be the simple matter of, I need a new body, and I want those eyes. Two things for the price of one. lol

Neither did Sarutobi. Both had a huge array of jutsu that wasn't shown. But we've never seen Oro use jutsu much. Something always stops him. Like not having arms, or not trying. If Oro and Saru had both been one-on-one that battle could have been awesome with all the jutsu they know.

And what would stop them from reforming? Saru blew up part of them and it didn't do anything.
