*The danger of kekkei genkai seems to be that users always have powerful, unique jutsu. There are other ways to have powerful unique jutsu, but it seems like for them it's a sure thing. Every kekkei genkai user has a style that very few opposing ninja will have seen before, even a weaker one.

Since they know that those users have KG's, they presumably know what they can use, but they will still be in for a number of surprises. KG's can have also have a variety of effects. The spread of ninja won't be that great anyway. I agree that Sage Mode is better than Hydra, but in Sage Mode, Jiraiya can still be overwhelmed. It takes an exceptional ninja to do so, but I believe that Orochimaru has enough intelligence, versatility and endurance to do so. The Frog Elder Genjutsu is the jutsu I see posing the greatest threat to Orochimaru. Everything else, Orochimaru could handle. After all, he took on 4 Tailed Kyuubi while his body was starting to reject him.
That said, I rank Jiraiya in the same tier as Orochimaru, but above him, if Sage mode is taken into account.

(minus the mission to capture, the manga would have ended)
jiraya had the chackra rod in his shoulder , sort of like naruto did also

Meh, it's safe to say that if the 'capture alive' order was not in play, Deva would never have beaten Naruto to that point.
That said, Jiraiya's best chance really is to ignore the Paths & go after Nagato, but personally, I think Nagato could hold him off with summons, chakra absorption, and Shinra Tensei, at least until the Paths arrived.
