He probably won't.
Anyone else notice that Shika got the flying rape kick against the Zetsu trying to attack Ino?
That was awesome...only because Shika is lazy but he still does cool shit that surprises me.
Also, I was utterly annoyed with Chouji the entire chapter. I could have sworn we were over this Chouji bullshit, pre-timeskip. Why in the world is he getting the same exact character development again?

That was kinda cool. Not as cool as nearly slicing Hidan's head off but pretty cool.
Without his pre-time skip character development, we wouldn't have seen "Super Saiyan butterfy" Choji....which actually looked cooler when he was younger IMO.
It's a weird fight. Shika-with-Ino is fighting Zetsu so that Ino-in-Choji can fight Asuma. No-one's actually using their own body but the opposition 🙂

The old stuff was about being useful and using his strength to protect his friends. Here, it's about making the tough calls. Choji's always been all about his friends, so fighting Asuma is much harder for him than fighting any enemy.

Hm, I think I may be a bad person.
Umm.....Asuma's kid>>>>>Asuma 🙂
No really! if a friggin book is enough to turn a ET person into dust, what do you think a kid'll do?
No bad, just open-minded.
He is struggling, which is all the more human. More than Naruto or Sasuke have ever done, rationalizing little pricks that they are.
I guess you forgot about the INTENSE struggle Naruto went through about accepting that Sasuke's a complete and utter douchebag and that maybe it would be a good idea to kill him before he straight up murders another kage. Or tries to kill Sakura again (much as we wish he would).
Also Chouji is now Butterfly Aizen.

But it's soooooo easy to clearly see what is happening. Asuma doesn't even look the same. It seems a bit cliched and tired: I'm afraid to fight the old possessed form of someone I love.
I thought the original one was "I'm afraid to fight."?

That and it's nice to see characters meeting with conflict in the decisions they're trying to make.
I'd like to see something other than Chouji struggle to fight...again...because of his weak convictions or being too gentle.
I would like to apply the same things to Naruto, as well...but they are not quite the same fights.

It's not that he didn't know what was happening as well as anyone else, it's just that he still couldn't bring himself to do it. Even the insult was clearly the original Asuma trying to goad him to fight.
After all, it's not like the zombies are mindless. Asuma was still talking to them!

Isn't it kind of very...stupid?
Asuma is begging for peace/death but he's not getting it and Chouji is just acting like an idiot.
It should have ended the last chapter and not carried out for an entire chapter. I can deal with it, once...but not 3 times.

Not exactly since it's not something Choji's rationally choosing. He *knows* what has to be done and he's not arguing against it. He is just emotionally having trouble bringing himself to do it.
I've seen people get cold feet about airplanes, cold feet about crushing your mentor's head is going to be on an entirely different level.
Choji's not an emotionless ninjabot after all. This stuff is hard, and struggling over it makes a lot of sense.
