In fact, we know traits do not carry over to other bodies: Kakashi's eye takes a drain on his body and he even unlocked powers with that eye.

So we have a precedent that it does change from body to body.

There's no evidence that 'once an EMS, always an EMS'.

Additionally, prove that the "madara's eye" that Tobi has is EMS.

So many problems with assuming it is an EMS eye or that it is Madara's, etc. etc.

EMS, or if we want to be right, Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. The only evidence I has is the name suggest it never goes away. It is eternal. 😮

That said, Tobi is an Uchiha. Since the eyes can be traded among clansman, I'd say he can use EMS fairly easily. He does use his Rinnegan after all.

We still have no evidence.

The "never" line could simply be a reference/exaggeration (which it clearly was...what happens if they die? that's right..the eye goes too) to it being an eternal use for that particular brother.

But, based on the facts I presented, Tobi HAS to be a brother of Madara or Madara himself.

The third brother offers the best explanation, yet.

The split Madara is the second best.

Considering the normal sharingan, and mangekyou, can be used after the persons death, I see no reason EMS is special. So long as it is transplanted obviously. 😮

I don't see that. A random 3rd brother would be...random. As for Izuna...well, he shouldn't be alive. As for a split Madara, since Tobi doesn't really resemble or act like Madara, I'll assume he isn't.

Difference: Kakashi had to unlock those techs.

It's still a brother, preserves the EMS (cause Tobi's eye totes should have faded over time because of his super spamming of the MS.

I hope something epic happens in the next chapter like Itachi shows up to take on Edo Madara (Even though i'm pretty certain Itachi is headed to fight Kabuto) XD...idk it would kinda be cool to see the uchiha genius of the past vs one from the present..but sadly Itachi probably would end up losing...OR OR 😄...I'll say it again...Fusion..dance ;]...Madara+Itachi=Machi?...O_O

Doesn't change the fact that a transferred Sharingan works, be it normal or MS. EMS shouldn't be too different. ^^

If that were the case, he should be doubling over in pain. Sharingan drains a lot of chakra. I assumed it wouldn't matter for an Uchiha considering it is an insignificant of drain for them. I always though transferred eyes stayed activated, regardless of who it was.

Tobi would have to literally have limitless chakra to be like Kakashi.

Not only is his Sharingan always activated, it's also not covered.

With this, I could make the case that EMS would also allow one to spam Izanagi without fear of the eye closing. Yet we do not know if this is true, and in all likelihood, it isn't.
Based on the fact that EMS is unlocked when a person's MS is transplanted into their sibling, I don't think it would work if that same MS is then transplanted into another individual that is not related to the two siblings.

Underlined the key word there. If it unlocked, why would it lock back up when transplanted? An unlocked MS doesn't get locked back up once transferred. 😮

Because:

1) It's not unlocked the way the Sharingan and the MS are.

2) It's only when an MS is put into a sibling that the EMS is activated. Put that same MS into another person, and it'll be just that, an MS. Unless of course the two sets of eyes actually fuse, in which case, you'd be right. But since it's just a transplant apparently, you're not. 😛

There's no confirmation that an EMS is an EMS in another body once activated. In fact, it would appear that it only works in a brother's body...based on what we have so far.

I don't see Kakashi doubling over in pain these days. Tobi is old an wrinkly...he's probably become quite adept with it.

Yes, Kishimoto has done something quite nice. If it has me praising his writing ability, then he's done something nice. It's hard to impress me with plot because I'm a little b*tch.

These are my thoughts as well. It definitely has to be a brother.

I still vote for a third brother.

IF it is a third brother, how do you any of you feel about that? Good, bad? What?

What if Tobi IS an Uzumaki?

However, the most likely scenario, not the best, is the splitting Madara theory. Tobi is obviously old because of the wrinkles.

1. But it is unlocked. And you're suggesting that it randomly locks back up. Which would be the same as Sasuke losing his MS if he ran into the revived Itachi. 😮

2. And after it is activated, why would it deactivate? An MS was put inside a crow right? The crow was probably not something that killed it's best friend but the MS stayed activated anyway.

Yes, I get where you're coming from. But it requires me to believe the eye would lock itself back up again the moment it entered other sockets. We haven't seen a case for it with any other sharingan, which is the only thing we have to work with by the way, so I don't see why the next stage of sharingan would be different.
