USH'S MATRIX GAME FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (PHILOSOPHY PATH)- 'The Journey'

(This is very frustrating for the record ush.....why are you so damn smart....are you a machine? *dramatic music*)

Alright scratch that. Ill have to think of another way to distinguish. Bleh

Sorry to be a pain; it's just part of my job in this section...

Here is a question for you- what do you believe a soul 'does' for someone? Do you think it feels any different to have one?

It has been said that the souless can not laugh. They also have a flawwed conscience (i.e. vampires.). To have a soul is to be complete. That is why a machine can never fully understand humans. The clone is not complete, he is not a man. He is a program. While he may be real, he is not complete.

Seeing as they can laugh, though...

Do you think you need a soul to actually be something that exists in the sentient and living sense at all?

No, not all living things can laugh. Not all living things are complete. I believe humans, have souls, nature has a soul.

Yes, but can you exist as a genuine being without one?

a genuine being yes, a genuine human being, no.

Very well; in which case your views on souls are not relevant to the situation... shame.

Ok, let me ask you guys these two questions:

1. Do any of you think you are the AI?

2. Do you think you are capable of blatant, cold blooded suicide?

I do not think I am the AI, and Im sure if my clone is a good one neither does he.

If suicide would help to attain freedom and peace, then yes. As long as it is for my cause and it is the best thig i can do to help, Im in.

Ok, I just wanted to mame sure everyone appreciated the innate difficulty of performing a self-destructive act.

Okay, Ush Ive been showing you all my arguments and at this point i think my little brain is completely fried, so if theres anyone point you think an elaboraton would lead me in a good direction then that would be mighty helpful. Heh...

🤨

Wlel, for a start, I will take submissions that have not solved the problem as such, so long as they seem complete. A submission that you think has little hope of convincing your other self- indeed, from some views doing so is impossible- is far better than no submission.

I see.

Dexx (and Fire, if he is still interested) I cannot really help unless I can see what they are thinking!

Why do you think YOU are the Human, Castor?

Because of an instinct. I feel committed and passionate baout ym cause, Zion. What I decide to do while I am here is up to me. Fate can only take you so far. I also believe that because of my decision to leave the matrix was based on instinct and even though everything aorund em was false my instinct still lead me to the truth. I believe that trusting my instincts here will do the same.

Do you think the AI will feel the same?

Im nto sure if the AI has instincts. It is a human thing. It i based on assumption. A human takes in information and gets a hunch, or makes an assumption on where the facts go. That is against the nature of a machine, they are equations and factually based.

But why do you think that? What makes you think machines cannot have instincts? Why do machines HAVE to be factually based?

Why can't they be just like you?

Because the function of a machine is to be perfect. They cannot assume everything they do is based on data. Instinct is somthing human, morebiological than technical. While machines can try to be human, they can never quite do it because they are trying to be perfect. Everythign is an equation or based off of some fact. They see one fact and they know they must do one thing. End of story. Like a string of ifs. Its not a feeling its a directive based on something they assume to be the right way a human would act. Truthfully we never know how a human will act, unless your the oracle, and even if you were you would first have to understand the reason the human acted as such.

They cant act just like us because we have a choice. We can either feel like doing one thing or feel like doing another thing. It is in our hearts it is our free will that we were born with, biological I suppose. Machines are not biological, feelings cannot come into play with them. In the end everythign is based on data and code. There are hundred of thougsands of ways to deal with any certain situation and hwile humans decide based on feeling and instinct and ar never quite exact or perfectly sure, machines must be. The equation anddata must be matched up for them to make a decision. That is technical, humans arent technical beings...

Why do you think the function of a machine is to be perfect? Sorry, I really don't see that. Why does a machine have to have a function at al? That is a philosophical belief espoused by the System, NOT a universal truth. The third film makes that clear, and people like Melitus reject it.

Melitus has exactly copied your brain patterns into the AIs. In the Matrix, you- as in the part of you that is 'you', not the shell that carries you- are both simply electrical signals- neither of you are biological. Unless you can give me a basis via which the two will differ despite being the same (as it were), then I cannot logically accept it as distinguishing, regardless of what statements you are making. My questions at this point are trying to hammer down something substantial, you see.
