The last one is only half a year old and they just released a gigantic amount of content with the 3.1 Ulduar patch. Beyond smaller patch additions, I doubt we'll hear anything about a new expansion in the coming year. While there are raiders who clear new content in mere weeks after it comes out, the vast, vast majority of WoW subscribers have yet to clear Ulduar on even the easiest settings.

Burning Crusade had only been out for 7 months before they announced WotLK at Blizzcon 07, chances are they will announce the next one this year too (betting on a Maelstrom expansion).
Yeah, I'm guessing it's the Emerald Dream, myself. They've mentioned it being in development before. Apparently it was going to be the second expansion but they dropped it for Northrend. I do hope the next one is Em. Dream, could do some awesome stuff with that since it's supposed to just be a messed up version of Azeroth.

You really shouldn't. WoW is the most overrated piece of shit in gaming; the storyline sucks, the graphics are mediocre, its the kind of game that encourages an insane amount of monetary and temporal expense and the battle system is far too clumsy and complicated with the interface and keyboard/mouse setup. Just download (at no monetary expense) some emulators and go crazy with the different ERPGs out there (again, can be downloaded at no monetary expense). Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy IV, Golden Sun 1 and 2, and Tales of Phantasia are all quite simply the shit. WoW on the other hand is quite simply the shit.

My main is a hunter, and I've been working on a legitimate "pet tanking" off-spec for some time. Glyphs, gear, rotation, spec, etc. And the other day it finally paid off. I tanked heroic UK with a group from my guild. The healer was full raid-geared, so I suppose that's cheating a bit. But still. No wipes. My pet stayed alive the entire time, and maintained aggro for all but a few pulls.
So if a hunter offers to off-tank, don't scoff. It's been an uphill battle for me to be taken seriously as a tank even by people who I play with all the time. But it's been fun, and I plan on trying to see just how far Hunter-tanks can get before it doesn't work anymore. I don't plan on taking it into raids (I'm a dps class, after all) but any heroic 5-man in Northrend should be doable, though quite difficult.
The reason people scoff at the idea of Hunter tanks isn't because it's not possible, it's because 99% of the people who would try it would fail horribly. That one percent, they might be able to pull it off. It's the same with Shaman tanks. There are a few Shaman who can main tank raids, but it's obviously not the purpose of the class so no matter what they're going to be worse than a real tanking class.
If you're just doing it for fun and to screw around, that's fine. But I wouldn't put too much effort into it, won't be worth it.

It's my off-spec. Of course my main duty is rocking dps meters. But I rarely PvP, can use my tank spec to do solo stuff, and this gives me something else that's a fun challenge.
But yes, most people should be scoffed at that try it. But I did my homework. I've run with a lot of worse tanks, from classes and specs that should be far better than they are. Once resilience transfers to pets in the next patch, no Northrend heroic should be too hard for a prepared Hunter tank. Like I said, I'm not aiming to take it to raids. But if a guild group needs a tank for, say, 5-man heroic chains, and none are on or willing, I just doubled my usefulness.
It's also fun to prove people wrong. Because a lot of people do think it can't be done. Heroic HoL is my eventual goal. And kiting Gluth adds in Nax, which should be fun. We're practically 8-manning Nax these days, so I'm not needed for dps there.
