"I was wondering. I know it sounds stupid, but I feel like something big is gonna happen, and I'm worried."

"Big? What do you mean?" Maik asked. Her sources hadn't given her that impression. but then, she hadn't been to work in a while either.

Sonia sighed. "I don't know. It's just a growing depression. It might just be me."

Maik just shrugged. "You may be right. I don't know." She swirlled her coffee, thinking that she shouldn't have left Elrohir they way she did.

"Is something wrong?" Sonia asked Maik. She seemed depressed.

"Nothing out of the ordinary. "She said evasively. She had a lot of things swirling about her mind. Things that needed sorting out. All the sadness she had supressed for two years had finally caught up with her.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell me." Sonia said sadly. No one ever did want to tell her.

Maik regarded her for a moment, wondering if Sonia could understand everything pent up inside of her. "All the emotions I have supressed for the past two years are finally catching up with me." She said finally. "Don't really know how to deal with it."

Sonia looked up at Maik sympathetically. "I'm sorry. It's Alex isn't it?"

Maik glanced at the picture. "Yes. Among other things..."

Sonia nodded. "It must be hard, to loose someone you love."

"Hard doesn't begin to describe it." Maik admitted. She picked up Aslan and put him on her lap, slowly stroking his fur.

Sonia gave a small smile. "Uh, yeah."

Maik noticed her coffee was gone and decided to use that as an excuse to get up. "You want some more?" She asked Sonia

"No thank you. If I'm ugging you, I can go."

Maik actually managed a small smile. "No. That's fine. You can stay as long as you like."

"You sure?" Sonia asked.

"Of course." Maik replied, filling her coffee mug. She returned to her armchair after making sure Aslan wasn't sitting on it.

Sonia sighs. "Descartes nor Elrohir knows I'm here."

"Is that a problem?" Maik asked. She doubted it mattered, though Elrohir might wonder what had become of her. and she didn't think Elrohir needed much more worry put on him than he allready did
