Sonia giggled slightly at the sight of the snowball. "Hehe." she laughed.

"How are you supposed to walk if you don't take the potion?" Elrohir demanded.
"I CAN walk!" Maik insisted. "Well,....limp...but that's good, right?"

Sonia nodded. "Um, sorry about getting you hurt."

"Sorry? Why?" Maik asked, for a moment forgetting the snowball.

"You got hurt because of me." Sonia said.

Maik just smiled. "So? I'd do it again in a moment."

sonia sighed. "But it's still my fault. I should have just let Fudge confine me to whatever prison he was gonna put me in."

"Sonia!" Descartes scorned. "DOn't ever say that."

Elrohir regarded her sadly, "Don't you think your life is worth more than that?"
"Auror or not Sonia, I would never hesitate to give my life for yours." Maik said. "What sort of a friend would I be if I wasn't willing to do that?"

Sonia smiles shyly. "I wouldn't know. I am glad that you did save me though."

Descartes sighed. "Okay, me and Sonia are going to find the nearest place to eat. We'll be back soon."

"Allright." Elrohir agreed. "I have some things I need to talk to Maik about anyway."

The two huberts nodded before heading for the door. Sonia paused and waved bye before disappearing out the door.

Elrohir closed the door and turned on Maik. "Why did you lie?"
Maik kicked at the floor and avoided his eyes. "Why do you think? I don't want the world to know I'm going to be limping for the rest of my life."
"What about the poition? Perhaps if you would actually DRINK it?!" Elrohir said agrily. "I DO drink it!" Maik rebutted hottly. "It doesn't help. I can't walk and that's the end of it."
Elrohir leaned on the door, glaring at her and she glared back, wondering if she should just throw the plant at him.
"Maybe it's time for me to retire." She sighed.

Sonia and Descartes sat at a booth. She could tell Desvartes was worried. Sonia sighed. "something wrong?"

"Of course not. Why?"

"Why would you retire when we need you most?" Elrohir demanded. "A little injury didn't stop Moody."
Maik just shook her head and walked over to stand next to Elrohir. "It's not that. I don't care that I got hurt. It's just that I came too close to losing you.."

Sonia knew Descartes was lieing. "I wanna go back."

Descartes looked up from his Menu. "You haven't eaten yet."

"I'm not hungry." with that the two headed back.

"That wasn't your fault." Elrohir insisted."
"No. I guess not." Maik replied, not sounding convinced in the least. Her eyes had changed color again, though that wasn't out of the ordinary. Except now they were a color Elrohir had never seen before, a deep, dark blue, mingled with black, like the depths of the ocean.
"I need a vacation." Maik said "I need to go home and think."
"Home? You can't go home yet!" Elrohir sputtered "You still need help!"
Under anyother circumstances Maik would have gotten angry at anyone suggesting she couldn't take care of herself, but now....she simply sidestepped Elrohir and opened the door, stepping into the hallway. He tried to follow her, but she had dissaparated and he was left standing alone. Slowly he sank to the floor and wondered wheather it was Maik's body or her heart that was hurting.

SOnia walked in to find Elrohir on his knees on the floor. "W. . .Where's Maik?" she asked worried.

descartes remained quiet as he stood behind her.

"It was sorrow....That's why I'd never seen that color before." Elrohir said softly. He slowly raised his head and looked up and Sonia and Descartes, a tear falling silently down his cheek. "She's gone....."
He shook his head sadly, as more tears fell. "Gone...."

"What?! where?" Donia asked desperately as she rushed forward and clung yo Elrohir gently shaking him.

Elrohir looked sadly up at him. "Home. Back to London."
